Well I would hope times have changed in most places. This particular boy was regarded as a friend and that is why it often tends to become more complicated than just reporting such things. And at that age I doubt many children have the autonomy to 'just say no' (to drugs actually), which might have been the advice given for many decades. Teaching about sexuality at an earlier age might have been better in my case - given that such didn't ever come from my parents.

Yeah. free range capitalism is the best. Get rid of the evil government and all that. I learned that from a True Libertarian and not some statists like you. But don't worry, I am also a statist. So we are evil together. ;)

Buy one!? I thought that they wanted me for my hot American body and Social Security Benefits. We are talking living the high life!!!

EDIT: In the 1990's at my store there was one man that came in trying to sell a more modern sign for the outside of my building. He had what was obviously a Russian mail order bride. She was very attractive. And he was quite the schlub. She also looked rather sad, and it was pathetic that he felt the need to drag her along with him when he worked I did not buy the new updated sign. In fact thought the business has changed hands several times since I left that same sign is still there. The frame that is. None of the businesses that followed felt the need to update it either.

But when I saw her and him I knew that I did not want to be that man.

As I understand it, Carroll confided to two friends, one of whom told her to take it to the police, and another who argued strongly that she should not -- that Trump as a real estate baron at the time was too powerful, and she would be badly hurt by it. She was frightened by that advice and decided to keep quiet. Later, when Trump was running for President (and won) she wanted to go after him -- but the Statute of Limitations made that impossible by that time. It was only when NY State recently made an adjustment to that statute that opened up a window for a civil action, and she took it.
