The Gay Agenda

Do you want to know what it is?

Are you sure?

You really ready for this?

Ok here it is...

The gay agenda is that all Americans, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, will have access to our national promise, that being the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Shocking, isn't it? :rainbow1:

There are many who find it quite shocking, which shocks me.

I'm up for that agenda. I may not be so supportive of homosexuality in itself, but that doesn't mean gays should be treated as any less than human. Equal rights for all, special privileges for none. After all, put a straight man and a gay man next to eachother and I sure as hell can't tell the difference.

Good luck with that, you beautiful people. :)

I am all for the equality of gays in America. I never pass up a chance to vote for their rights. However…I do tire of the constant barrage of people’s agendas. Everyone has an agenda and demand everyone else accept their agendas without question.

My biggest problem I have with the agenda is the fact that, while the vast majority of gays who fight for their rights there is a minority that do more damage than good through public indecency and public immorality that I abhor regardless of weather someone is gay or straight.

If we don’t want the government in our bedrooms we shouldn’t be bringing the bedroom into the streets.

Go, Gay Agenda!! :rainbow1:

NoahideHiker, I understand what you're trying to say. But try to see how gays and lesbians are constantly barraged with images of heterosexual couples kissing, holding hands, having free and open discussions on wedding plans, hetero couples or singles having kids, heteros having powers-of-attorney, heteros in the military, in public office............in other words, everywhere. :)

I'm not sure how wise it is to fault the vast decent majority of homosexuals for the rather questionable behavior of some visible minority. I have a feeling that isn't what you were really saying, but I wanted to clarify my position.

Peace,
Mystic

And milk. yes, don't forget milk.:p

Ultimately, I think this will be the best way to soften the hearts and win over the minds of those who most fervently oppose equal treatment.:rainbow1:

True it will not be easy, but it is rare that anything worthwhile would be.

These are the very rights I think they should be able to have. And I support that. My point was that we are told we must take them seriousely and accept them but then the biggest examples we are shown of the gay agenda is something like this...

So we're expected to take this seriousely? There were hundreds of photos I could have chosen that would not have been allowed here. I'm not talking about holding hands, kissing or things we all enjoy. I'm talking frontal nudity and debautchery in the streets. Is this the face the gay agenda wants to show us? Is this how we are shown gays are just like everyone else?

No, not in the least. That's why I was very careful to say...

Looks like so many of the straight guys I knew in college...

The guy is just having fun. I mean, I understand your POV, but are people like in the picture the "biggest examples" we see? Maybe in the media, but that's a bias towards shock value.

Yet, no one seems to hold it against all straights that a few of them act like jack-asses...

When I think of a group having a pride parade they want to have the best examples of their group on display. Having guys like this represent gays in a gay pride parade is like African Americans asking O.J. Simpson be in some type of black pride parade.

What does this have to do with the OP? SO you don't like how he is dressed, guess what, I don't either. I don't like the way Britney, Paris and that bunch dress and influence little girls, but I'm not holding it against all straight people and claim they represent them.

Of course you are. :p My point is that the idea that gays are just like the rest of us isn't always reflected by the face they show us. It's a problem all agenda driven groups run into.

I can not think of any time I have seen a hetero from a pro-hetero group acted like a *******. But as I have been trying to show I hold everyone to the same standard. If you are straight and you are parading down the street half naked doing immoral things it's wrong too.

And please hear me, I know this is not what the vast majority of gays participate in. All my gay friends and family are very normal and would never think to do this.

Of course you are right; put that way though, it does make the opposition to "The gay Agenda" seem to be totally anti human rights.

I'm not going to fit into anyone's cookie-cutter ideal of normal in order to get rights or acceptance. I get rights because I'm a human being and we're all created equal and deserve equal rights and you're kidding yourself if you think I want yours or anyone's acceptance. If I want to have a house with a white picket fence and a wife and 2.5 kids and a dog and a minivan then I will. If I want to dress up in some wild costume and parade through the streets then you better believe that's exactly what I am going to do.

I don't think I'd ever go to a pride parade like that, but for the first time in history GLBTQ* people are starting to get more rights and not be afraid of being put to death. This is why things like that do occur, we're like teens who just got the car for the night for the first time ever and while we're getting places we're going to do some crazy things in our excitement like speeding or even hitting a mailbox.

You know, that sounds familiarly democratic! Hmmm....let's start our own country based on that!!! Oh, that's right we already did, and then forgot that it meant ALL.
