in Q the sign was simply Jonah’s preaching to the Ninevites
Matthew here adds Jonah’s sojourn in the belly of the whale for three days and three nights, a prefigurement of Jesus’ sojourn in the abode of the dead and, implicitly, of his resurrection.

So the abode of the dead is somehow related to the earth's heart? I believe your faith considers Jesus sojourn to be a literal event not a metaphorical one so this would imply the heart of the earth to be a literal place correct? Does this mean that the abode of the dead where Jesus went to preach is literally within the earth?

What do you mean by "in Q". Its my understanding that Q refers to a hypothetical source from which other scriptures relied upon but which scholars don't have in their possession.

I sort of understood the 'Heart of the Earth' (Achuzan) to be used in 2 Enoch; where it is the place Adam was created, and Melchizedek came from.

In my opinion. :innocent:
I haven't heard this term before..."Achuzan". What does it mean? Simply...the place where Adam was created? And where was that? Nobody knows I suppose. It is interesting though that it was said Adam was created and then placed in Eden. So where was Adam hanging out prior to being placed in Eden? Achuzan of course...lol.

The "heart of the earth" in Matthew 12:40.

It meant the tomb of Joseph
Arimathea, in which Yeshua was laid by his friends for treatment of the wound inflicted on his body on the Cross, when Yeshua got recovered enough, he came out of it and was seen by his disciples, one gets to know, please. Right?

Regards
