The Hill: House Republicans Are Jumping Off the Sinking Ship:

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Some of the GOP members can't stomach the extremists within the GOP, and are leaving:

That's fine as long as they have actual plans for the betterment of the nation and its own people.

What's interesting is that some Republicans are bailing due to legitimate philosophical differences and legal issues with the Trump crowd, but as far as what remains, there's a lot of infighting among the MAGAs themselves, such as MTG vs. Boebert. Trump and DeSantis agree on quite a lot, yet they seem to hate each other now.

There is some irony in that even people who mostly agree with each other can't get along or cooperate with each other. I would predict even more splinterism and factionalism.

Until they leave, perhaps they can vote with the Democrats - a sort of coalition party with basic values in common such as being pro-democracy, pro-Constitution, and pro-rule of law. Maybe they wouldn't be on board with the Democrats regarding pro-separation of church and state and pro-egalitarianism, but I suspect that that contingent of the Republican party might not be as averse to choice and tolerance as their MAGA counterparts. And, it would alleviate the paralysis in the House, where nothing gets done except political theater.

This would be helpful now so that the coalition could get a bill passed to prevent immanent shutdown and to fund the Ukrainians. It would have been helpful when electing a Speaker. I'll bet the Democrats would have been on board with a Kinzinger or Cheney nomination, each a huge improvement over Johnson, who's a MAGA extremist interested in a Biden impeachment and clamping down further on women's rights, which will further damage the Republican party and the nation while enabling the likes of Jordan, Gaetz, Green, and Boebert. Neither is in the House any longer, but that doesn't appear to be a requirement for the job.

Worse than not distinguishing between them
is to actually support insurrection & the coup.
MAGAs have become full blown Koo-Aid
drinking cult members who worship a savior
sent by God.
Ah, my new ringtone when I get fed up with my current one. o_O

Republicans don't have plans for the betterment of the nation or it's people.
Republican policy only focuses on the betterment of corporations.
There's a difference between talking about plans and actually meaning to do it. Republicans lie.

The MAGAs are certainly trying to stage a coup of the GOP, with all of the nasty tactics they have employed. Sadly, the once big tent has now become a 3 ring circus.

Only trying?
I say they succeeded in taking over the party.
But Trump will implode, & the cult will die.
I just hope it happens before the election.

Look for whatever diversionary tactics the MAGAs might come up with to distract from Trump's legal woes.

1..... how can the constituents still prefer trump?

2.... the next budget requires work

I understand what is making the GOP's nervous.
