The Impact of FAME

Zanfina Ismajli is Adelina Ismajli's younger sister, and until quite recently that was the extent of her fame. Adelina, of course, is Kosovo's most famous and controversial celebrity. The Islamic folk singer has actually been implicated in the abduction and murder of a Kosovo Christian woman, though she was never charged.

Zanfina, on the other hand, seems to have escaped the curses of her family. The Ismajli family are, in many ways, Kosovo's version of the Kennedys.

Here's a little look at something that I find very interesting, the impact of fame. It changes how Zanfina looks, how she sings, how she dances, how she sounds. It affects her entire... aura.

No, I don't speak a word of Albanian. I know some phrases, like Zemra ime mbushur me kujtime, sonte ti vetem neper shi. It's something about being lonely in the rain, or something.
