I have a corporate defined benefit pension which I expect to get far more than I paid in.

I don't borrow money. Outside of buying our house, I never borrowed money.. I can thank my depression era father for that model. If I ran a business, that might be different but my wife and I both have the "if you don't have money, don't buy it" philosophy. I like the feeling of freedom we have for not owing money. It's a winning thing to do.
Alas, I've paid off my home.
I'm somehow less of a man now.

Well.... in your case.....I actually have no argument against that.......but I still win...and it would have been a hollow win to beat the likes of you...the lowliest of the low....I can't tell you how much I appreciate beenherebeforeagain's post so I have some sense of satisfaction at beating a worthy opponent
