The tractor will wait til your car sleeps, rests, or feeds.
Then it will slowly & stealthily creep towards it, pouncing
at the breakneck speed of 2 mph. The tractor will then
have its way with the car, depositing a small bolt within
the car. The bolt will feed on the car, growing until it
bursts forth from the body as a larva. Gender is determined
by the temperature of the car...Those parked in the shade
will mature into a jenny....those parked in the sun will be a
Jack.
The host car dies, but life goes on as the larva becomes a
juvenile, & then matures into a fully grown tractor.

Isn't biology fascinating.

Wasn't sure about funny or optimistic. Funny won in the end.

Could be, I can't get a closer look. It is off the road about 50 feet and the whole area is behind a chain link fence. Driven past there many many times, never saw that before.
You're developing "the eye".
Soon you'll be seeing ancient iron more & more places.
Eventually you'll descend into interest. This might lead
to attending shows. And if you're really unfortunate,
you'll start collecting & running engines at them.

That is absolutely terrifying.

Actually I learned this from my uncle many MANY years ago. He was a hunter.... don't look for things, look for things that don't belong there.

There are many iron collectors there in upstate NY.
Once you meet a couple, you'll start seeing them everywhere.
There are even some on Long Island.
(I've been to their place, & I see them at our show.)

The only older iron I have ever been interested in collecting was in the form of motorcycles. But a lack of space to keep them kept be from collecting them. But as I get older I have less and less interest in riding one so..... But I am starting to become interested in old engines, car, truck and motorcycle...not old as what I saw in the woods, or what you collect, although they are interesting.

There's something about the early morning light that shows up dust and dirty windows.
