That's a lot of potential picnic baskets.

Hey, we have a black bear roaming around a neighboring town here just outside St. Louis. Not anybody you know is it?

Are bear steaks any good.

They released a few here up in the Pyrenees but they are not allowed to be hunted

Fair enuff, all it means to me is I can't go anywhere because the highway will be jammed up with Sydney wankers rushing off for 3 days.

Those stay at home holidays while everyone else is getting stressed and annoyed because they are stuck in traffic are the best. And very satisfying.

P.s. I don't like the queen and co. Just another blot on the British landscape

I have no feelings one way or the other. I guess the business owners are happy that people are travelling on her fake birthday but grumpy old men like me are whinging about the tourists.

I learnt my lesson many years ago by booking a bank holiday weekend in a Windermere hotel. Windermere town is on the banks of lake Windermere, a very popular tourist spot for tourists from all over the world.

What should have been an hours journey took five and a half hours and we couldn't get into the town, it was totally snarled up
Parked 3 miles from the hotel and walked. So lets go out to the lake .. Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Indian, African, Australian, Kiwi, American, Brazilian, French, German, Polish British and more lined the shore and jetties, queued for 4 or 5 hours to take a 20 minute pleasure cruise on a crowded bucket, couldn't even buy an ice cream without a 30 minute queue so back to the hotel for some peace and quiet for the weekend. At least the food was good.
It only took 3 hours to get home on Sunday evening. We felt like we hadn't had a break and vowed never again.

One of the Nascars is sponsored by Menards! I think I saw Revolting chasing it down the track.

Some gas customers got a win from this.

‘The Dollar Sign Just Stayed Low’: Rancho Cordova Gas Station Glitch Sells Gas For 69 Cents A Gallon – CBS Sacramento (cbslocal.com)

RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) — People at one Rancho Cordova gas station were calling friends and family to fill up fast Thursday when an error on the pumps had gas selling for just 69 cents a gallon.

It happened at the Shell station on Sunrise Boulevard and White Rock Road.

The gas station glitch gave Darryl Surita a sweet deal.

He posted the incredible error on his Instagram page.

“I looked at the numbers and it was 69 cents a gallon,” Surita said. “So you know what I did, I hit that button and it started pumping and the dollar sign just stayed low.”

Word got out fast. Families and friends all got the phone calls.

“It was crazy, It turned into a circus within a matter of minutes,” Eddie Surita said.

“I started looking around and everybody had a smile like everybody had a big smile and they kinda were not looking at you in your eyes,” Darryl Surita said.

Somehow, the decimal point in the advertised price was mistakenly moved. $6.99 a gallon for premium became 69 cents a gallon.

“I’ve never seen gas this price in my lifetime, could you imagine that?” Darryl Surita said. “This is history right here.”

The mistake took management at the station three hours to fix. They would not comment.

Surita was on empty. He filled up his tank for just $14.

In a summer of soaring gas prices that people are trying to make sense of, this gas station was selling it for just cents.

The last time gas prices on average were 69 cents a gallon was in 1978.

I remember when people were complaining when gas got as high as 69¢ a gallon. A dollar a gallon was considered unthinkable.
