Crimson Tide (1995) was a pretty chilling movie.

I remember someone telling me they were in a submarine that sat at the bottom of a Russian harbor for a month. The Russians didn't know they were there.

But it would pretty scary at hull crush depth.

I'm reminded of the scene where Sean Connery's character in that movie kills the Political Officer on the Red October, who happened to be named Ivan Putin.

Except that his character, Captain Ramius, was Lithuanian by birth. That's why his Russian was actually pretty poor, although not as bad as Clint Eastwood in Firefox.
