There are affordable meds, at least in my location, and it has been (possibly literally) a life saver. It does not just go away, unfortunately. Take care, and work with your PCP to find you a helping hand.
No PCP, either.

I'm of an income bracket that there really isn't any money for doc appointments.

I do know of a med I could afford that helped in the past, but I can't shell out the several hundred bucks it takes to see a doc to make the prescription.
Maybe you can try the VA, I don't know.
Do they see non vets?

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

Sometimes! Call them and tell them your situation and ask questions. They can tell you quickly.

Also, if you are American, you can try the healthcare.gov website. They only bill you (or rather the insurance provider only bills you) minus the subsidy and they tell you before you have to commit. I mean, you get plenty of notice. And even then all you have to do is not pay the provider if it's too high. But it may not be.

You don't have insurance? I was on disability for a while starting in 2001, and had Medicare insurance but my wife Sara did not. That was a scary time, we could not afford Sara to get anything serious that required high medical bills. Fortunately that didn't happen. Her mother got breast cancer and died at 57, and that was on my mind. We were in debt at that time. The Affordable Care Act came in 2009, and I think over time it got changed so it was watered down. It almost got repealed all-together in 2017 in favor of a worse act for us. I think that's why John McCain turned thumbs down on that repeal. I don't how that is going on now. Now both Sara and I are on Medicare.

I got booted from insurance after the federal Covid protections ended. A lot of people in my state did.

That the Gods that the kids still qualify. One of Ares's meds is 700 a month without insurance, and all his ER/psychiatrist visits would be unaffordable for even a short period of time. I'm thankful that the state government realizes kids need to be healthy, but I don't know why it escapes their care that those kids need healthy parents, too.

Iowa is, let us say, has a state government that is the conservative camp, without mentioning parties. Actually, the Ohio state government is also.

Iowa used to be more balanced, and I am extremely, extremely disappointed at the turns its taken.

My problem is it puts money before life. I will always value life before wealth.

Health care should be guaranteed by the government. Where does the government fail? Well, saving lives and relieving pain isn't important apparently. At least prevent drug companies from overcharging for drugs.

No votes in it. Guns, immigration, abortion, God... that's where the votes are.
