The "lesser of two evils" base strikes again

Before anyone skips and mentions about "where is Trump mentioned" see:

“I came out of a gay club and your driver is racist against gay people,” Ortiz rants, adding, “I know my legal rights as an American citizen that voted for Trump…” Ortiz also calls the Lyft operator, “a piece of s***.”

So the Lyft driver is "racist against gays."

I have one question to those who are level headed among Trump's base. How does it feel knowing that this kind of intellect is the face of the one who you voted for? I mean your president invited Kanye who, as Dr. Eric Dyson proclaimed a "Blitzkrieg of blathering ignorance," now you have this guy. What is really going on with Americans?

Some good news from that story:

"A Trump supporter who berated his Lyft driver with the N word has been fired from his job after a video of the harassment went viral."

The look on the driver's face says it all. He is putting up with far more crap than he could be expected to by any means. It is also nice to see that Lyft is supporting the driver. The only thing that I have questions about are the laws for recording others in New York state. Since businesses regularly have security cameras I sincerely doubt his claims about being illegally recorded.

By the way, I am not among the Trump supporters at all so your question does not apply to me, but I would be embarrassed if that man was on the same side that I am.

To be fair, the most common way to explain homophobia I've heard is "like being a racist, only against gay people."
Though that guy does sound like a douche.

And it looks like the rider was wrong about being able to sue the driver for recording him. Multiple sources say that New York state is a "One party consent" state. That means when there is a conversation between two people that only one of those two needs to consent to make the recording of the conversation legal:

" New Jersey and New York

New Jersey and New York are “one-party consent” jurisdictions. In particular, New Jersey and New York law make it a crime to record an in-person or telephone conversation unless at least one party to the conversation consents. Thus, in these jurisdictions, you may record a conversation or phone call if you are a party to the conversation or you get permission from one party to the conversation in advance. Violating these laws could subject you to criminal prosecution and civil claims and damages for violating the law relating to recording conversations." The driver is clearly a party to the conversation.

A more up to date source says that New York is now in effect a "two party consent" but if a person is told that he is being recorded and continues with the conversation that he will be judged to have given consent:

New York Passes Law Effectively Becoming a Two-Party Consent State for Call Recording

There was nothing there about being able to tell a person to stop recording. If he did not want his conversation recorded he had the choice to shut up.

I didn't realize that random inebriated people were the head of any politician's base. And I disagree with that summation of Kanye but of course Dyson isn't going to approve of Kanye liking Trump.

Also it is rather disingenuous to call some Trump supporters 'The "lesser of two evils" base' I was ready to vote for the lesser of two evils, Hillary, but I did not have to.

. meanwhile, somewhere in a nursing home in America a white Trump supporter helps an elderly black woman to the bathroom and gives her a shower.

Would you argue that voting for the "greater of 2 evils" is better?
Or is it that you think Hillary was really a good & solid candidate?
