The Meaning of the Symbols of Halloween

When I was growing up in Idaho, my Father allowed us to turn his garage into a haunted house for our friends. My Mother added to the fun by helping us turn a part of our small yard into an open bon fire. We always had fun parties and dressed up as various characters. We carved jack o lanterns, bobbed for apples, ate popcorn balls, and went door to door trick or treating. Among my Family, there was nothing trashy about the event. We did not dress up as murderers, politicians, barely dresses maids or any other such characters. We did not have or serve alcohol, or encourage any form of sexual behavior. As the years have passed, I have done much research into the origins, meaning and symbols of halloween. I was quite surprised to find that the origins of Halloween, were actual a very powerful teaching tool, to make a mockery of false individuals, false religions and false governments.
