The military aspect to the Afghan withdrawl

For those that follow things military, I'll note two different weapons that actually worked. Given the world as it is today, these two weapon systems have their use.

anti-missile system intercepts rockets fired at Kabul airport

On Monday, the US announced that its anti-missile system had intercepted as many as five rockets fired early in the morning towards the airport in Kabul.

The Pentagon reportedly used its missile full of swords to strike ISIS-K in retaliation for the Kabul airport attack

Colloquially referred to as a “ninja bomb” or “flying Ginsu” and first publicized by the Wall Street Journal back in 2019, the joint CIA/DoD R9X does not use an explosive warhead. Rather, the missile comes packed with a halo of blades that deploy moments before impact to effectively eviscerate a target,

The problem is that India may have to face some of them. US enthusiastically armed Pakistan at one time giving them F-16s. Not that we worry about it, we have Rafales and others (SU-30 MKl and Mikoyan-29, Mirage, Jaguar).

We hope all of them were "demilitarized" as announced yesterday. I saw some pictures of at least some last night on the news, and indeed they didn't look too "usable".

Good to know, thanks.

I don't know if it was the "best job possible", but unlike
the others, he did the job. And it could'a been worse.
So I too credit Biden for a good decision carried thru.

That does sound like an overstatement, and you're right, very few (and certainly not me) are in a position to know whether it was the best, but eventually we may have a better idea. And know more about how he was sabotaged by the very people who put us in or continued us in, this place we should never have been.

The people who criticize Biden for handling it poorly
strike me as failing to consider that alternative plans
could've been worse, eg, waiting longer & doing it
more slowly.
Ya gotta decide what to do, & do the best ya can.
The naysayers weren't gonna.
