The Mind Of Jesus

I agree with @Valjean , we can't possibly know. However if I were to take a shot I would go for a mind something like that of the Buddha. I don't get to meet many Christians but what I do see and read makes me suspect that there is a growing split in opinion. One side leaning further into a more or less fundamentalist position. The others tending towards a more progressive stance. I think many Christians now find it acceptable to say "I don't know" and to realise how can they know. When you have done this all the miracles and magic tricks can be seen as just that.

Many people do see and sense something powerful in the teachings of Jesus, once you have really sensed that, you don't need the other stuff, maybe it happened, probably not. I am focussed on the good, not the birth and death.

So thats how I see his mind, as that of an enlightened being.

I think the split is between people who know that Jesus is alive on earth today and that when he dies the world ends and people who don’t know who Jesus is.

Well I am sure that you do. Far more importantly you state that you believe that the world came into existence in or around 1980.

As far as I can tell, this is a position that is unique to you. As such, I can only conclude that you, willingly or otherwise created this idea. As your ideas do not appear to have any connection with reality or share common ground with others, there is no point in any further discussion is there?

I wish you well.

I think my ideas have a lot of common ground with Christians. Whether they would like to admit it or not is another story imo. So maybe you’re right, maybe there is no discussion to be had. The biggest deception humanity has ever achieved was right out in the open for all to see imo.

Wasn't there an effort to round and kill Jesus and all his followers; leave no witnesses. Only John was not killed but placed in exile. What was left of the followers had to escape Jerusalem and go underground and wait until the political climate changed. There were seven Churches. Eventually some of the descendants published the stories that had been kept alive for several hundred years; New Testament.

My belief is the Revelations of John are original. This can be inferred by its different writing style and ambiance. Those who paid to have his life spared and allow him to live in exile, would have taken his journal to the underground after his death. It was placed last in New Testament, since it was felt that his vision had not yet to been fulfilled, since there was still no heaven on earth. Jerusalem had been sieged the temple destroyed but the story never completed.

Consider today, Presidential Candidate Harris is not being questioned about her past, and the Left is trying to distract and help rewrite her history. That is only after a few months. It will take time for the historians to piece it together, in spite of the full court fake news coverup and even witness tampering and intimidation.

To the Pharisees, Jesus was a heretic and a threat to them, so they needed get rid of Jesus and his followers, and erase him from the books. As long as he was on record, he was a martyr and not just a deniable myth and a story. The ran their version of a law-fare scam. Didn't Jesus have felony convictions, for victimless crimes, by a kangaroo court, leading to the death penalty; ancient swamp?
Are you talking about the gospel John, or the John of book of Revelations?
We don't know who author of the gospel "John" was -- or any of the gospel authors. His name was a later attribution to an unsigned gospel.

Who the John was who claimed authorship of Revelation -- again, we don't know. It was written several generations after Jesus' life.
It depicts a "vision" or hallucination. It was voted into the Biblical canon long after it was written, and is considered heretical by many denominations even today.

There's little objective or third-person evidence of any of the biblical claims or stories. It's basically an anthology of tall tales by the believers themselves, retold and embellished over the centuries, to enhance the mythology and proselytize.

As for plots and conspiracies, what actual, independent evidence for these exists?
All sorts of stories have grown up around the Jesus myth, almost all of them by the believers themselves trying to embellish, justify or proselytize.

Right. No event before 1980 actually happened imo. I’m not the kind of man who believes a man rose from the dead 2000 years ago. I’m the kind of man that believes a man from from the dead around 1980. Know what I mean?
I was alive before 1980. Moreover, I don't recall reading any headlines about anyone rising from the dead, or hearing/seeing reports of any such thing on radio or TV.

See, there you are again. The post was about your apparent belief that the world came into existence in 1980, but that little bit of reality completely passed you by. Why? Because you went straight to your favourite topic, I and my. I suggest that you read through your posts, an endless list of "I". I think, I know, I believe. Your ego is working overtime, give it some rest.

I would get warnings for preaching if I didn’t use I know, I think and I believe. I’m a humble man with personal beliefs that I share here.

Yes personally I believe that Christians believe that jesus is alive on earth but don’t admit it. I think they believe a new earth will come back with Jesus when he returns but before he returns, he hast to die.
Aside from that my personal belief is that the world came into existence through a certain man whom I don’t call Jesus around 1980. So yes, I do believe we share common grounds even if Christians would be unwilling to admit it.

I truly believe that Christians think that Jesus is alive on earth, but don’t come out and say it.
Yeah, that sounds very humble.
And lets not forget that out of the billions of human beings on this world, you are the only person who knows the date that the world began. "Humble" even Hitler did not go that far.

I count myself a Christian and I don't believe the Earth came to be in 1980

I know many other Christians and am pretty sure they don't either

Why would any Christian believe that????

It totally nullifies the idea that Christ came to Earth, died for our sins, rose and then ascended to Heaven

If you believe in those things you cannot believe Earth started in 1980

And quite clearly the great majority of Christians believe those things hence they cannot believe Earth began in 1980

So if someone’s personal beliefs don’t sit well with you, you chalk that person up as having no humility?

I respect your beliefs and how you see other Christians but personally I view Christians differently. It may sound harsh that I think they’re not fully telling the truth but I do have that right to personally think that.

Why would anyone other than you think those things?

What evidence is there that anyone else thinks that?

It completely contradicts the core beliefs of the Christian faith

If the Earth began in 1980 then Christianity would be false and make zero sense as that would mean that literally nothing mentioned in the bible actually happened

I think you are mistaken and haven't really thought this through

You are basically saying that Christians believe that the ministry of Jesus Christ never happened (as per the gospels)

Yes you do have that right. However, I will remind you again that this is a debate section. People have a right to question and expect answers. Answers are something that you seem very short of.
And I did answer your question, "not at all". Reality getting missed yet again, Kingy.

You haven’t answered my last question and that’s one that can be answered. People aren’t looking for answers about my personal beliefs they’re looking for proof. I have none. If somebody asked me a question that I can answer I will.
