After much consideration & research, I ordered an Aerobin 400 from Costco.
(Best price anywhere. Free delivery.)
Even though it's of Australistanian design, reviews are positive for those
of us who want minimum work with maximum effectiveness.

I'm thinking of giving it a prominent place among hosts near the entry.
It's primarily about convenience, but it's also a statement....
"I am a composter."
I'd frubal myself if it weren't a sin.
(And yes, I have figured out how to do that. But I'm not sharing.)

Btw, I'm ignoring 13 alerts at the moment cuz posting this takes
priority over the sundry engagements awaiting me here on RF.

I would like a compost bin if they were not all so gigantic. I live in a condo, so I really don't have the space for something that large without ticking off the neighbors.

So... instead I just throw bad veggies in my garden or front yard prairie to rot. Good enough, I guess.

Our compost bins were just plastic circles that we tossed plants and dirt and dog poop in and left for a long long time. There was nothing high tech about them and we have had to weed in the bins over the years but they worked.

I bow to the high tech upgrade that makes ours look like relics from the Neanderthals.

I've been doing variations on that for decades.
Doesn't work so well, & too much work.

There are much smaller ones available.
Some even tiny enuf to keep in the kitchen.
But they require special worms as I understand it.
The internet tells all.
But we too throw much out in the yard for the racoons, possums, skunks, cats, & Scotsmen.

My Nana never bothered with compost bins, didn't hav'em in her day....she just dug big holes in the garden and put all her scraps in it then covered it up and dug another hole somewhere else.....her veges were always awesome.
