I'm just struggling to see why anybody would want to sign up to a team where the captain is afflicted with ASPD.
The world is afflicted. God made the world. God is Love. Go figure…

Old Testament is the foundation. Jesus is supported by it. And I think it is nice how God has foretold what He will do.If I wanted to promote Christianity why would I use the Old Testament as a source?
Ok. And the violence that god perpetrates... what is your take on that? Killing, destroying, etcOld Testament is the foundation. Jesus is supported by it. And I think it is nice how God has foretold what He will do.
For example a new person like Moses and the new covenant:
Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from among you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him.
Deut. 18:15 (Acts 7:37)
For finding fault with them, he said, "Behold, the days come," says the Lord, "That I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah; Not according to the cov-enant that I made with their fathers, In the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; For they did-n't continue in my covenant, And I disregarded them," says the Lord. "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days," says the Lord; "I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be to them a God, And they will be to me a people. They will not teach every man his fellow citizen,{TR reads "neighbor" instead of "fellow citizen"} Every man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' For all will know me, From the least of them to the great-est of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more."
Heb. 8:8-12 (Jer. 31:31-34)
He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying, "All of you drink it, for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.
Matt. 26:27-28
This shows that God is not tied to just one person at one time in history, but is continuously present. And when He tells long before what will happen, it can be then understood that it is by His influence. I think that makes Bible God special. I don't think there is any other God who is in same way in touch what will happen.
I seriously doubt it.I'm looking to learn actually.
Why?I seriously doubt it.
The problem you have is that Jesus himself quoted and referenced the OT scores of times - from memory, he stood up the synagogue and read from the scroll of Isaiah; he specifically mentions Adam, Abraham, Moses and Elijah; he quoted passages from Psalms and Daniel, referred to King Solomon in his most famous sermon...etc. etc.If I wanted to promote Christianity why would I use the Old Testament as a source? On cursory looking it seems to involve a lot of violence from various quarters. Shouldn't I try to ignore that half of the bible and hope no-one notices? Put me straight!
I can tell you one reason that Christians refer to the Old Testament. They believe that the prophecies contained therein are referring to Jesus. If I wanted to promote Christianity why would I use the Old Testament as a source? On cursory looking it seems to involve a lot of violence from various quarters. Shouldn't I try to ignore that half of the bible and hope no-one notices? Put me straight!
With all due respect, the Bible is not supposed to be a poetry book, it is supposed to be the Word of God.Where else can you find poetry like this, written around two millennia before John Milton?
Who made up that rule? With all due respect, the Bible is not supposed to be a poetry book, it is supposed to be the Word of God.
Nobody, but people generally believe that the Bible is the Word of God, not a poetry book.Who made up that rule?
In Christianity Christ is the Word.Nobody, but people generally believe that the Bible is the Word of God, not a poetry book.
That's remarkable, exceptNobody, but people generally believe that the Bible is the Word of God, not a poetry book.
Why not both? Can't poetry be both the word of God to some folk and poetry? Neither are exclusive of each other. It's not to me but I can't see why it cant be both.Nobody, but people generally believe that the Bible is the Word of God, not a poetry book.
What do Christians believe that means? How is Christ the Word?In Christianity Christ is the Word.
How do you think that Muslims view the Bible? The Bible is not seen as the word of God in the sense Muslims believe the Quran is the word of God.
Yeah, mostly that I think.(or no well developed view at all)
It could be both if God spoke poetically. Why not both? Can't poetry be both the word of God to some folk and poetry?
Is not the world a poem made by the Divine? It could be both if God spoke poetically.
No, that is not what I believe it is.Is not the world a poem made by the Divine?
*shrugs* poetry is in the eyes of the beholder. No, that is not what I believe it is.
