The only child "marriage" with a seal of approval.

Twilight Hue

This is not the type of child marriage that comes to mind resulting in intense disgust and disdain.

No. Not at all.

This one is markedly different involving real genuine love, and caring of a level that simply defies words involving a favorite nurse and a terminally sick child who was able to experience something that she may never realize down the road.

Dreams do indeed come true.

I really enjoyed this article, it's great to see someone bring so much joy to a young child's life. She may not have much time left, and if she does it is a very long road ahead, I hope this cheers her up and keeps her strong.

On a side note, I never should have scrolled down and read the comments that people were posting *facepalm*

I'm glad I only read the story...truly inspiring. Who needs the face palms? Why are people so quick to pour scorn on a truly kind gesture?

Yea. In my day it's simply considered innocent puppy love, and to fulfill this little girls wishes to experience the thrill of marriage was just a show of the incredible manner by which makes us human in face of horrible tragedies like the ravages of cancer. It was a way in gifting this child the feelings of wonderfulness and happiness of being "married" to someone whom you feel happy with. Something that her particular condition may not allow her to experience for real someday. It was a good call by staff and especially her nurse in putting a smile on someone so young facing something life threatening like this. I suspect her time might not be long for this world. I really hope it's not going to be the case.

I haven't felt this good by a news story since Batkid.

I think the critics simply don't realise the precious time this little girl has, and are misunderstanding in light that she just wanted to be married to her favorite nurse. I suspect it's literally her dying wish although I hope so much for some type of remission to occur.

I don't usually cry much, but this is so heartfelt and beautiful .....

A pretend marriage is not one that is consummated, and this gesture was beautiful for the child. Her joy and happiness lit up the room, it seemed. Given that making sure dreams come true for kids who are going through some horrible horrible **** helps their quality of life improve AND improves their chances of survival and long term health, this story shows that even the simplest gestures of the fairy tale goes a long way toward her health and happiness.

Where people are clutching pearls is that they're sexualizing the girl or assuming the nurse is a predator. And THAT kind of mentality is as depressing as the existence of childhood cancer in and of itself.

The story brought tears to my eyes.

That is such a cute heart-warming story. That nurse is really nice to make that little girl's wish come true, with a pretend marriage and the best rings ever (candy rings)! :p

I hope she makes it through. It's really sad that some children die so young. At least she will have that little bit of happiness and hopefully it helps her go through her treatments.

Good on the nurse. Why the frig do adults want to bring in adult perspectives? This was done FOR THE CHILD.
Anyway, bravo.

People complaining have their priorities screwed.

Loved the article. Good to see there are still so many good people in this world. I hope the little girl makes it and that her "wedding day" will always be a happy memory.

See?!? Gay marriage legalized by the Supreme Court, and a couple of weeks later we already have adults marrying 4 year olds. I told you so!!!
