You choose to believe in Jesus, but this belief is based on Christianity, which is, by definition, a religion.
There are many reasons people don’t believe in the power of Jesus, but I can’t see this being one of them

Perhaps. I just don't see any visible indication or evidence of such. Though you're correct that Rome maintained a certain spiritual power over Europe for many centuries, but even that eventually waned.

None of us knows what it means to die. So to us, a myriad of possibilities present themselves and we will choose to hope in whichever possibility provides us with a sense of peace while we're alive.
I find this very interesting. As I wonder how differently we would interact with this world and each other if we did know what fate awaits us all in the end.

We would definitely treat each other differently. That’s why I wish world leaders and all people were spiritually enlightened. Oh well

No. If the stories about Jesus are true then all religion is nonsense. Since Jesus is eternal, and not subject to time, and exists/existed long before men made up all the religions. If the stories are all false, then Jesus is just another element of one religion among many. (But they are true, so it is not religion)

I am an ordinary person and I do not find it difficult to believe that when I die there is something beyond this world...
In fact I believe it wholeheartedly even though I cannot prove it as a fact.
How do you think you can know that for a fact?
If you are waiting for Jesus to return with a new heaven and a new earth you will be waiting for forever since Jesus said he was no more in this world.
John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
John 16:10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more.
John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
No more means no further, never again.

No, we don't know exactly what it will be like, but we can have an idea, a belief about it.
I am already interacting with others and the world in light of the fate I believe awaits me at the end. Why wait?

This is why people today choose words like humanity, humans, and human beings rather than men.I think very few people in this world believe we are just worm food when we die, and yet most do not accept Jesus. I would look for other reasons. When you ask them, what would you say are the three most common reasons they give?
