Everyone, materialistic or spiritual wants Peace if not Truth and Bliss and look to various teachings to gain that. To give humanity that Peace and lead them to Truth, the philosophers, the great sages, the spiritual teachers expounded volumes of teachings and their followers sometimes get lost in that. I have spent years reading volumes of materials of great teachers and have been benefited. This material aims to precisely convey the means to gain lasting Peace and may be Truth and Bliss. When you read books or listen to speeches or involve yourself in activities, definitely what you hear or do works on your brain without your knowledge and gives you certain amount of peace. You then get back to your routine and lose that peace. You are dependent on the book or activity and go back to them for peace. Is there something that you can do knowingly that will give you that Peace and because you do that knowingly the Peace is everlasting and doesn't die, but grows and results in the knowledge of Truth and Bliss. There is, and we will go into the details.
The Buddha said, "You can end suffering here and now". J.Krishnamurti said, "Psychologically there is no future". Though these are truths, I spent years to fully understand them. To sum up my understanding in one sentence, "You can end suffering by exercising your inner freedom from external circumstances". There is no doubt Jesus had inner peace even when he was crucified. The Buddha's inner peace and compassion when he was threatened to be killed astonished and transformed anguli mala, the killer. Inner freedom ends only mental suffering, but that itself is great relief and the ultimate. This also protects you from lots of diseases which are of psychosomatic origin. There may be physical suffering which has to be endured. Once you gain inner peace, it raises the frequency vibration of your total energy field and strengthens your immune system, thereby shielding you from physical disease to a greater extent.
To go into the details, all suffering is because of the ego or conditioning. There is no good or bad in conditioning. All conditioning is harmful. Any common man who is not unconditioned is subject to the various forms of suffering like fear, anxiety, envy, anger, hate, hurt, guilt, pride, worry, irritation, grief, shame, discontent, despair, dullness, boredom, loneliness, desire, greed, violence, depression, cynicism and does not know he can be free of all these. This is mentioned so that you can watch these in yourself and know your conditioning and uncondition yourself. When there is suffering there is no peace. So, how do you end the ego or uncondition yourself and gain peace. The Ego is a complicated psychological structure that resides in the brain. If you can understand all the complexities of the ego in one moment, you can be free of it in the next moment. Because it is difficult to understand the complexities of the ego in one moment, you wait and understand it as it tries to manifest itself through thoughts and emotions. "The Ego can be vacuumed out through Self-Observation". It is as simple as that, but it may take days, months or years, but don't be overwhelmed, suffering can end here and now. Anything that disturbs the inward stillness, your mental peace is the activity of the ego. This is the only guideline. The ego expresses itself in thoughts and emotions. Emotions trigger thoughts and thoughts empower emotions. This is how the ego sustains itself and grows. When the ego expresses itself you have to look at that aspect of the ego without escaping and go to the root of it. How do you get to the root of it? It is no magic, you follow the thought or the stream of thoughts and you know from where they arose. It may be difficult to get to the root of it because it is like swimming against the current or rather sustaining your consciousness against the stream of thoughts and emotions. When you arrive at this clarity, you not only become free of it immediately, but also the conditioning loses its strength to produce the harmful emotions or thoughts in the future. It is like when you identify a thief he stops stealing. The conditioning remains harmless and slowly vanishes because there is no thought to sustain it. It is an effortless process. You cannot make an effort to remove the conditioning. It gets uprooted effortlessly on observation when there is the intention to change. This is the only thing that you need to do endlessly, effortlessly at your own pace. It is important first to take one aspect of the ego like fear or worry, observe the thoughts it produces without judgment, watch it unfold and leave you and gain success in Self-Observation so that you are encouraged to move forward. Emotions that the Ego provides are the favourite food for consciousness. Your consciousness shines brighter as you gain success in transmuting the emotions. You need to be open to any inward change that you may need to undergo in the process. It may be bitter if you depend on your ego for identity, but if you know the fact that you are nothing and the ego is only a false covering, there is no bitterness and you can watch the whole ego unfold and leave resulting in increased peace and in the end Truth and Bliss. As mentioned earlier, the Buddha said, "You can be free of suffering here and now". The moment you gain success in dealing with one aspect of your conditioning, you gain peace and inner strength and you are free of suffering. You are ready for the transition. To reach Truth it may take days, months or years, but there will be peace all the way. You can read all the books of the great teachers, they are definitely great, but this material is all one needs to gain and retain Peace and Truth. Great teachers tried to change people by their inspirational talk while most of their audience listened to them, determined not to change. If people are not willing to deal with their ego, no one can end their suffering. Lasting Peace and Truth are not an add on to the ego and can't be found in the books, speeches and activities. Lasting Peace and Truth come when the ego ends by Self-Observation, correction and change.
Self-Observation is not something that you do for a while till you reach your goal and then drop. It has to be internalized so that it becomes natural. You have to experiment on yourself and dissolve the ego by Self-Observation. No one else can do it for you. You may be a school kid, a housewife or a business magnate and claim you don't have the time. You need to invest some time to gain the first success in Self-Observation and then it doesn't need time. It is just a matter of intention, The Path of Intelligence.
