The Pitifully Flawed, Unreliable Judgment Behind Voting for Trump for "No War"

Many Trump voters said they elected him instead of Hillary Clinton because he was "less warlike." Now a war with Iran is basically a reality, almost entirely thanks to Trump's ill-conceived handling of foreign relations and negotiations.

This, in my opinion, is a stark reminder for anyone who knows such Trump voters to thoroughly dismiss and disregard their political judgments in the future as unreliable, irrational, and flawed. We would all be better served by ignoring their input on future matters of considerable political gravitas.

Your low-rent political decision has now resulted in unrest for many of us living thousands of miles and an ocean away. Congratulations on "making America great again."

You're angry at us. I get it.
But you're going off the deep end with the hostility & derision.
You're staff. Set a better example.

When we voted, we had the information we had at the time.
And don't pretend that his alternative was any peacenik.
At the time of that election, you didn't offer your prediction
of this latest debacle. Don't pretend you foresaw it.
We have more data now. It will affect votes in 2020.

If a president stuck to “no war under any
circumstances” the nation would be lost
to its enemies in no time.

Actually, I'm not angry; I'm more jaded/sad to be proved right. Many people told Trump supporters that something like this could happen due to his impulsivity and carelessness, yet all of the warnings were dismissed by his voters.

The indications were there for all to see. It's just that some people still chose to ignore them for the sake of ideology and identity politics.

I'm not talking about "any circumstances"; this is about the specific circumstances in which General Suleimani was assassinated. And the assassination could have indeed been avoided.

You said of me & others who voted for Trump....
"....anyone who knows such Trump voters to thoroughly dismiss and disregard
their political judgments in the future as unreliable, irrational, and flawed.

I've offered the loudest objection to the assassination
& all of Trump's handling of Iran leading up to it.
So find this judgement also irrational & flawed, eh.

Oh?
When did the specific circumstances of Suleimani's death get released?

Considering we aren't at war and Iran took the best possible tack for them, directly aiming for no American casualties, perhaps you should reconsider your own political judgement.

When he attacked an embassy he went too far, and Iran seems to have understood that with their response. We'll see going forward.

Yup. He made it apparent he isn't really interested in peace. It's not hindsight, it's the fact he encouraged violence at his rallies to pay bail and legal fees for those who did turn violent.

Mr. Small Hands doesn't seem likely to let such a thing go. If he does avoid war, it's because he is just too lazy, which his daily schedule and frequent vacations suggests he is.

Good for you on objecting to the assassination after helping put into office the man responsible for it. Now go ahead and convince both sides not to go to war based on your loud objection.

It's so easy to extricate oneself when the significantly harmful effects don't affect one directly.

$10 says he'll suspend the next election because of the war he just started. I'm calling it now.

But in this analysis you entirely ignore the fact that his
opponent voted to start & continue the wars. And there
was also her "obliterate Iran" threat if they attacked Israel.
Not just defend Israel...."obliterate Iran". Sounds genocidal.

Hillary fans never really did take a cold hard look at her.
Hating Trump, too many put their brains on Democratic
autopilot, voting for whomever they ran without question.

That's a redundant question. Do you really think his assassination was unavoidable?
That you claim it a redundant question reveals much.

Fact is, the details have as yet to come out.
Regardless of your claims that they have.

My belief that you are right does not change the fact that you do not have all the details.

Now I understand the appeal to using buzz words like murder and assassination, but the fact is it has not yet been determined if ether word applies.

Why is it that those who lash out with such viciousness deny any anger.
It's even worse that you'd post such venom while calm & collected.
As I said, you owe us a better exemplar.

In context, "lashing out" and "venom" seem overly dramatic terms to describe the points I made. There's sometimes a fine line between viciousness and plain realism.

The true viciousness and venom I see are in continually defending such a corrupt and unreliable leader and demonizing his critics until he got us to this point. Few things can match how disastrous and ill-advised that is.
