I don't want much from a home, but I do want it to have some odds of staying put when a tornado goes by.I've already suggested a Prius for transportation.

I think that nothing will stay put if a tornado hits it. It doesn't matter how big it is if it is not made of stone. IMO.

If my plan was to stay here, that would be the goal - a house of stone. It's not full proof, but it stands more of a chance than buildings made of other materials. Anywhere I end up at though, building in accordance to the weather is my goal, making stone a no is earthquake prone areas.

The Russians used this in WW2. It was a heavy duty tractor with a big gun mounted on it. During the Battle of Berlin, this was used in response to German sniper fire.
Protection against tornadoes is one thing, but don't forget flood insurance.
