I'm leaving for the best part of Christmas in about an hour.

My nephew-in-law, Andrew, is about everything I don't like. Career army, Trump supporter, he came back from several tours of Iraq and Afghanistan with some serious issues. Multiply married.... really.
He's pretty much everything I don't like.

Except for him. He's about my favorite in law. He's great! He and I are going to hide out in the garage during the family Christmas party, drinking beer and smoking cigarettes. When the kids come out asking about him, he'll send them in for more snacks. Once they go to bed, I'll help him assemble some toys they're getting from Santa.
A good time will be had by two guys who could hardly be more different.

Whatever happened to killer bees anyway? From what I've read, the threat faded away as so many have done in the past. I'll take it as a sign not to panic as we were advised many years ago when I learned that the answer to life etc was 42.

They live in warmer climates, they have them in places like Las Vegas...but they were not the global scourge they were rumored to be

I'm cooking dinner and watching Dr. Who. In about a half hour I'll be starting on peeling potatoes before mashing them. I would personally rather have and make twice baked potatoes, but my family tends to be afraid of flavorful things and things that to them seem unusual and not simple.
