I did not get training for most of it either and it has nothing to do with me being a lazy slacker, but we do have one, which is why I got his stuff too. It is a Government office and I sit right in the middle of the hierarchy..... things under me are my responsibility and those above me who don't want to do it give it to me to do..... but those in other associated departments are impressed by "degrees" so.... besides security was the reason I got into IT for in the first place.

I never did IT in government but did in big organizations which can have "world class" bureaucracies. Thus I understand what you wrote.

Snow on the way and so far I have head snowfall amounts in my area, on multiple news stations that range from 3 inches to 14 inches...... sadly it is not enough snow to convince the better half I need one of these
