I hate you!
(not really, I'm just really super jealous)
We've been working on this for a while; finding used wheels means we can also afford a kiln fairly soon. We're getting both of the wheels for less than a new electric wheel.

And, if it helps, I'm jealous of being able to emigrate; I've talked about it so much that my wife won't even talk about going to Israel on vacation. She's afraid I won't come back.

I keep telling her that they have really good clay there.....

I found out that people who dislike JJ Abrams Star Trek movies are haters. I didn't even realize that preferring old Star Trek to the new version transformed me into a hater. I could have sworn that I don't hate anyone. ;) ;)

Which old trek? ST:TOS or ??? Now *that* is a subject that can be more flame-filled than religion. Or perhaps it is a secular kind of religion?

I can admit, yes, I'm a hater. I hate Star Trek looking too much like Star Wars (and JJ Abrams is directing the new Star Wars, so I guess at least he has some practice). I hate it being action driven rather than character, plot, and philosophically driven. I hate that "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" was degraded and reduced to a petty action scene at the beginning that revolved around policy technicalities rather than a situation of a serious and grave nature. I hate that the things I admired and loved about The Next Generation (such as several female roles) are absent from the new and "updated" Star Trek. I also hate that the next upcoming Star Trek movie is going to be directed by one of the Fast and Furious directors. I think they should let Chuck Palahniuk right a script and have David Fincher direct it. Then we could see some hefty doses of philosophy and character put back into the franchise. We'd probably even get a chance to have a narrative going on as someone is being assimilated if Palahniuk writes the script.

I think my kitty is close to dying. :( Just got back from rushing him to vet a while ago. Found him on floor, next to puddle of pee, mouth open, little gasps for air, not responding. Got him to respond while transporting him to vet. Belly filled with fluid. Temp too cold. Lost weight. Poor baby is curled up in warm blanket with watered down pate cat food in a bowl next to him. I just don't think he has much longer.

I mean all the Treks before Abrams transformed version, which changed, basically, what Star Trek was all about: Into yet another mindless, action-filled movie with no real plot.

Star Trek. The casting was good. The new Star Trek saved the series from the impossible Enterprise scenario which was far too touchy-feely, that takes priority over building up more philosophical support. Also the newer generations of viewers had to be introduced to the Trek crew. Its hard to believe but not everybody has heard of Spock's logic, Kurts gutsiness and Bones emotional medical cliches. Plus the series needed to be rescued from the softness and touchy-feeliness of the Enterprise series. Doing that definitely justifies making it an action film and also splitting the time line. Ask any member of the Big Bang Theory cast while they're in character, and they'll agree.

15y/o Average lifespan for this type of cat is 14-16yrs, so he's geriatric at this point. Had him since he was a tiny kitten. Still my lap cat baby.
I really feel bad for you. One of my cats is about 15 years old and I know he'll be gone too soon. :(
