It's time patriotism was exposed to market forces.
They've already done that here.
It leads to a lot of super patriotic types desecrating their flag with improper displays and turning it into clothing and hijacking it and making it into a political statement.

Besides which, some are being paid to act that way from what I've read here and there.

I drank beer, and so I woke up at 1am. Also a lincoln park song started playing in my head (numb dammit). Its a cool song but also a bit negative for 1 am. I have not become numb, not trying to be what you want me to be, not caught in the undertow.

Even hyper-patriots flout bad laws, eg, excessive
regulation of Ameristanian flag display.
