But do they still teach it? My parents can't type, we didn't have a computer (this still being when not that many people did have one) and I learned by the "hunt and peck" method on a typewriter on the rare occasions I had access to one. Then I took a typing class in high school.
But people today generally have computers at home and I assume most newer/younger parents can type. So is it still a class that's taught or did it get the boot like cursive?

@beenherebeforeagain See, you silly bird! It's called typing.Youngest was taught how to type in school on a computer keyboard and is a very good typist. I on the other hand, took typing in junior high.... and can't type at all like I was shown. Kind of like a fast hunt and peck is what I do

well, my granddaughter is 13, and they've called it that since she started school...How young? I consider it typing, too.
