From time to time, I think about the Achaemenid Empire (550–330 BCE).

The image above is of some šēdus or winged bulls in Persepolis.

'Real winged bulls think about the Achaemenid Empire!'

Sometimes I think about the Terran Empire.

I'm tempted to poke around, but this is what's important.
It's getting @Wu Wei all worked up telling him he can keep one of his good nights he always giving us for himself.
He should watch more George Carlin.

He's better than certain other candidates. Like if it was Trump or DeSantis or Megatron I'd go with Megatron everytime. Leader of the Decepticons isn't as bad as leader of an insurrection.
Unless we're talking about Meg. (But I'd still go with Meg).

Listen. I have put a pellet of poison in one of the vessels.

HAWKINS

Which one?

GRISELDA

The one with the figure of a pestle.

HAWKINS

The vessel with the pestle?

GRISELDA

Yes. But you don’t want the vessel with the pestle, you want the chalice from the palace!

HAWKINS

I-I don’t want the vessel with the pestle, I want the chalice from the what?

I'm sorry...but what are you talking about
When I tell you that you can keep a good night for yourself for a change then you get all grumpy about it and not wanting those good nights back, I guess cuz you have people to maul and eviscerate in your dreams.

This is apparently becoming a theme song of mine here. I never heard or knew of it today, but it's making people think of me. And it's funny. And having been away from this environment for awhile it I also realized how mean and hateful a lot of what I grew up around is.

Big heads up:
That's a really stupid plan

Officials said the pilot was safe and was transferred to a local medical center in stable condition, but that emergency response teams have been deployed in search of the aircraft.

"The public is asked to cooperate with military and civilian authorities as the effort continues," it said. "If you have information that would assist the recovery teams, please call the JB Charleston Base Defense Operations Center at 843-963-3600."

The last-known position of the aircraft, which is property of Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501 with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, was north of Joint Base Charleston around Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion.

It said personnel from the base and the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort were responding.

Maybe it crashed into a lake.

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., said online that she is "grateful" to the men and women in uniform who risk their lives daily for the American people.

"Now that I got that out of the way. How the hell do you lose an F-35?" she said in a tweet. "How is there not a tracking device and we're asking the public to what, find a jet and turn it in?"

The plane's transponder wasn't working.

I wonder what happened to it.

Pennsylvania seems to have a tough time keeping people locked up:

According to a post by Pennsylvania State Police Trooper David Beohm on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, nine young people who ran away from Abraxas Academy at 8 p.m. were being sought by the Reading division of the Pennsylvania State Police and other law enforcement organisations.

After the fight broke out within the facility, state and local police were called to take charge of the juvenile centre in Morgantown, some 49 miles (78.8 km) northwest of Philadelphia, according to a statement on the website of the Caernarvon Township Police Department.

According to the facility’s website, Abraxas Academy is a safe residential treatment programme that offers “specialised care for delinquent male youth between the ages of 14 to 18 in 9th grade or above.”

Following the capture of an escaped killer who eluded Pennsylvania officials for several days despite a thorough manhunt, the search for the runaway kids begins soon after.

One would think that a plane without a pilot would shortly crash...

although modern fighter planes essentially fly themselves...so what was it programmed to do? Obviously not return to base...

It would seem that someone would have seen it, especially if the pilot bailed out. Even the pilot doesn't seem to know where it went. They said it was near a couple of lakes, so if it crashed into a lake, it might be more difficult to spot.

Maybe they should just go jump in the lake. ;)
