Our local Value World (thrift shop staffed by ex-druggies) is closing?
Where else will I shop!
My town lost K-Mart and Target within just a few months which leaves us with...Wal-Mart for most things. :( I miss Target. There are all these stupid people talking of boycotting Target and meanwhile we have a lot of people wishing we could shop there. Sucks.

"That" is arguably the most important word in the English language. Sadly, it also gets neglected, ignored, and overlooked more than any other word.

Ah, the wonders of big-box competitive markets when the marketplace can't support multiple big-box operations...
The internet is changing everything.
As a real estate developer, this changing market is screwing with me big time.
Ya thinks ya gots a deal, & then Home Depot decides against opening any new brick & mortar stores, instead concentrating on internet sales.
Even I buy most of me clothing over the internet these days.

Oh, I'm addicted to Amazon. For music, books, movies, some clothing, school supplies (TARDIS and Minecraft backpacks for the win), some electronics and so on, I'm all about the Prime. 2 day free ship that baby. I do my grocery shopping at Fareway, but for basic household goods we run to Wal-Mart now. I use to like clothes shopping at Target, their stuff was nice, but locally that pretty much leaves me with Wal-Mart or Kohl's. One is cheap and cheaply made, the other is an overpriced Target.

However, clearance price at Kohl's is almost always outstanding compared to other stores' clearance prices or regular prices...

I don't bother going in there enough to know. We have a Herberger's here and a JC Penney's and I don't really shop at either of them either. There are several clothing stores in the mall too but I don't often throw money away on clothing. I have lots of clothing and I tend to take pretty good care of them and I'm not concerned with fashion that much. I have some shirts I still wear that are around 20 years old. Still think I may have a couple from high school. :p

I'm eating roasted almonds...and listening to my youngest practice for her Viola recital.....

I am also wondering of the oldest is ever going to get out of bed and go finish mowing the dang lawn... I mowed most of it Friday and all he had to do was finish the trimming..... he has about another 30 minutes...then I go do it.... and he then has ALL sorts of extra work to do today...nd I mean today...not tomorrow....not next week.... and boy oh boy I have thought up some good ones...... this is what you get for not listening to Mrs Wu, treating your room like a dorm and not doing what I asked..... heck...he was supposed to mow the entire lawn.... but I had an impromptu afternoon off last Friday so I thought i'd be nice and do most of it for him.....he is going to have to learn there are still consequences for his actions, and being a college guy does not exempt you from those consequences..... he has also apparently forgot that consequences generally mean he has to deal with me.......

The one town I live near has a Target, Wal Mart, Meijer, and Kroger. The other town I live near has a K-Mart (easily one of the smallest ones in the state) and Kroger and the town is vehemently opposed to allowing Wal Mart in because it will kill off their Main Street and Broadway businesses (the two roads where most of the business are in this town).

You should ask them to see their 00 rack (or maybe it was 000 - I haven't worked inventory for awhile so I don't remember). You can get ridiculously cheap stuff that is in good condition, and it's stuff like a top missing the bottom that goes with it, or other things that are perfectly fine yet for some finicky reason they are not able to sell on the floor.

Nuthin beats Value World, where I can get 10 shirts & pants for less than $10 total.
I be style'n!
We don't have those here. Our lowest priced clothing is Dollar General and Good Will, and the high dollar clothing is JC Penny and the fad stores like Old Navy. It's why I'm clueless when as to who and what when anything fashion related comes up here.
And there are Hot Topic and a small chain store called Nirvana, where most of my shirts have come from.

I'm currently not popular with the 'älteres Kind'.... it is amazing how much work gets generated when one misses a chore and is not listening to Frau Wu.... one of the new assignments elicited a wide eyed drop jaw look...
