I feel vindicated as a shadetree mechanic: the 20-odd-year-old truck that I nursed back to health just passed its safety inspection. Whew. :D

Now for its emissions test.

Goooooo, sufficiently-clean-emissions-so-Pengy-can-drive-his-ancient-cool-truck!

I think I'll be okay on that front. It's got a brand spankin' new catalytic converter, and it's old enough that it doesn't have a lot of engine control doodads to go wrong and louse up the results.

I'll put in a new air filter before the test (which it probably needs anyhow) and hopefully it'll all go well.

If you want to take it for a test drive after that, come on over and look at my ailing power steering! There's whiskey - sorry, whisky - in it for you! Not in the power steering, that would be silly....

Oh - I've got a good way to deal with power steering problems:

- find the power steering belt
- cut it off and throw it away
- build up your arm muscles

:D

Ha! In a minivan? While handing sippy cups to kids? And waving my gun around on the highway?

It sounds like you're not too worried about driving straight anyhow, so what do you need power steering for anyway? :D

Well, I have the beer wedged between my legs and the cigarette dangles with no hands necessary (after my son lights it), so I'm good there.

I was all: why hasn't she said anything about it? Where are the updates? Aaaah. Fine, I'll look back at the blog post I read it on.

July 9, not June 9. Yes, I fail. Thank you, thank you.

At least I got up. :p

How could I make such a ridiculous mistake?

-clips primary feathers- I don't deserve to fly! (Not that I'm flying much these days, but it's a symbolic point.)
