The reasons why Islamic women wear the Veil

oooh. Finally a man that says the truth.
You men discriminate women on the basis of their looks. And I don't blame you, I can understand you.
That's why I want all women to be perfect, and beautiful. I want all of them to take care of their looks, their body, their clothing and their makeup.
Because I want them all to be treated equally by men.

And women exist to seduce you mean. They exist to turn you on. As well as you exist to make them enjoy. Pardon me if I'm too explicit, but it is the truth.
Beauty is a value that needs to be valorized.

Those women who can't turn you on? Do they have any value?

I am not immune but also see the perfect soul inside. That to me that is more important to acknowledge in a person than their physical appearance.

You assume that men can do something about it.

To me I find it interesting to watch the behavior of men almost universally change around beautiful women.

If you need to run a civilization you need your leaders to think with a clear head. Men have a difficult time with this. Think about Helen of Troy.

It's not about hate, it is about accepting the reality of human nature. Women who are not physically attractive do not have the same opportunities. It is sad really. To get all women to be treated equal is a difficult task.

I see women who are not physically attractive refuse to look directly at me because they have probably been ridiculed their whole life because of their looks. Even from other women. The fear of another look of disapproval because of genetics. Nothing they had any control over. One's physical appearance should not define a person. Unfortunately in our society it does.

I can vouch for that. Lol. Sad, but true.

I think that sex appeal is important and absolutely necessary.

Only if you plan on sleeping with the person. Is it important that your mom, grandma or sisters are sexually attractive to you?

Also, what is considered attractive varies by person.

What has unnattractiveness got to do with the Hijab and equality?

You do realize that Helen of Troy is a Greek Myth, right?

Men and Women have been working side by side for years now and it's working out great. I honestly have never heard of a story of a man being so distracted by a woman at work that he can't get any work done.

It's a story based on an understanding of human nature.

Nor is it about not getting any work done. It's whether the work is fairly doled out based on performance or looks. It's about firing and hiring women based on looks.

Women do it too. Ugly guys get treated different then the really handsome guy. Maybe men should wear a veil too. Well the handsome ones anyway.

Perhaps you've never managed a large group, my gosh the drama. Angry husbands showing up threatening one of your workers. Make everyone wear a veil. I'd suspect there be a lot less drama in the work place.

Respect a woman as a person equal to every other person without regard for her looks doesn't seem a bad idea. Not particularly good that men folk think this can't be done without an artificial device like a veil though.

Perhaps we westerners would rather see women as trophies. Dress up and look pretty.

Thank you. Yes, I could understand the Veil if it was for men and women, I'd think it a great thing. But it's very clearly for women alone and that is where the problem lies.

If that is the reason, I feel very lost.
Because the woman was created to fascinate men. The divine essence and purpose of the female spirit is to seduce men.
If you prevent a woman from doing that, it's like you killed her.
You kill her divine essence, you kill her femininity.
When a woman fascinates a man, she feels gratified in her role. She feels she's a real woman

Nope.

.
Helen of Troy is the living proof that female beauty is the most powerful thing ever.
And I can use her as example of what I mean.
Thanks to beauty, it's woman who dominates man, and not the contrary

by the way...a little anecdote: the Italian word for Troy is exactly the same (homograph) for wh**re

so...I'm definitely proud of Helen the Troy...I meant of Troy

Like I said, Even if that were true (and it's not) lightly striking a woman is a dominating gesture meant to make a woman subservient.

Men are the managers of women?
I probably earn more than most men and have more assets than most men. I don't need a man to 'manage' me or my affairs.

Islam is trying to oppress women, As you've just so kindly provided evidence of.

hadith is not taken as a countable source by many muslims. they are simply words of man supposingly reciting words of muhammed. muhammed didnt allow his words to be written so that they arent taken and mistaken with quran, the words of god.

ie the usual "women as livestock" muslim attitude.

I meant what I said in the relationship context.

I don't think any man would like his wife to be shared with other man. Not even in the other man's imagination....

You are practically saying that Queen Rania of Jordan is not a good Muslim wife because any man sees her beauty in public

I didn't mean what I said literally .... I meant it in terms of relation with other men ..

still there are chances you may be misunderstood.in relation to other men her father probably has more right on her than you.

the more respect, care, time and love you give to a person, the more you are given those inreturn by that person.you cant claim to get those out of blue from a person, boy or girl. you need to earn them. this fact doesnt change from religion to religion.
if god told you that you are over woman and you deserve respect from them,(implying it would be sin if woman doesnt respect you), it doesnt mean anything. if woman doesnt give you that respect because of your bad behaviour, it only means god gave man the permission to make the woman a sinner. and how weird would that be for god to say such a thing? it would shake the whole system.

I didn't say that.

Every person is different case because people are not exposed to the same ideas and are not approached with the same information.

so if all Muslim women started having the same liberal ideas as Queen Rania, you would remain celibate, right?

Again I 1000 % agree.

Both men and women are asked to respect each other and be partners in everything. They are asked to make the other's life easier. That is of course subject to both of them obeying Allah in every little aspect because in that way no one would mistreat the other.

Lol. No it doesn't work that way.

I told you it is subject to what people are confronted with. Maybe I can convince her that she should wear Hijab. Maybe she thinks it is not an obligation in Islam. Maybe she is planning to. I would never know.

What I said is that when I want to have a wife, there are many things we have to discuss and agree upon. This includes the subject of the Hijab.

If you have a wife, it should be her decision alone, if she want to wear the hijab or not. It is utterly silly and misogynistic that there should be discussion at all.

Would there be a discussion of WHAT YOU SHOULD WEAR when you go out in public? Yes? No?
