Trump's ban on people from certain Muslim countries entering the USA had all of our lefty knickers in a twist. This is much more serious.

I'd think anyone who supports the BDS movement against Israel because of what's going on in Palestine has to be horrified by this.

Agree. Those on the left who will now avoid criticizing the Chinese Government for what there is good evidence to believe is genocide might or might not be numerous, but they are certainly one thing: Foolish. Most likely a whole lot more than that, as well.

Just a side note: I'm making an effort these days to get into the habit of holding accountable the individuals, groups, and organizations that are most responsible. So to me, it's not the 'Chinese', it's the 'Chinese Government'. It's not the 'Israelis', it's the 'Israeli Government'. And so forth. I think the distinction matters, and has the potential to matter a great deal, so I invite everyone who will to join me, to join me in making these sorts of distinctions.

So, socialists, social democrats, a good chunk of liberal democrats and a wad of people calling themselves libertarian in some guise or another. That would exclude liberals who have no interest in limiting corporate power etc. It's very broad brush, as almost no-one is entirely left or right or anything in particular.

These people have been protesting the treatment of the Uighur. It was even heavily criticised by Left-wing mainsteam media like in the Guardian or the info-entertainment show Last Week Tonight which dedicated one piece fully to the subject and mentionned it in a piece criticising president Xi Jinping. You are basically asking a political formation to do something they are already doing and have done for a while. Some liberal and left-wing political leaders have also criticised China for its actions in Hong Kong and the treatment of the Uighur.

In the UK the left tried to get an amendment to trade laws to exclude countries that commit genocide. The right over ruled it and it failed to pass.

From what I've read, those against our policy to China are the business interests in America who could care less about what China does as long as there is money to be made.

Not for identify China as a problem but for a ham-handed, go-it-alone approach to the problem China is for the rest of the world.

One bill in 2020 got an almost unanimous vote Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act - Wikipedia

and certainly not in relationship with Hong Kong, theft of intellectual property and other issues.

There's a legitimate debate about the best way to counter China's economic and political aggression.
