The rule with God.

I don't see where I can post this. This goes in general religion.

I say that this is not talk anywhere but there is rule with God. You cannot do what ever you want.

Like for a beginning, respecting God would be the first rule.

Yes, you have to respect Her as She is the Mother of the universe.

I don't think it's her for God. I don't think this is respect. It's you, the religious to tell me what it is btw. It's not Him either, must be something in Greek I would say.

Yeah, that is the point. God is what a given person think God is and another one can think differently. So there is no objective standard for God and thus not objective standard for what to respect.

There is no official documentation?

Objective as independent of indiviual subjective claims about which version of God, we have to respect.

In effect the problem is not God as such. It is that in effect it is an objective claim about how all humans ought to behave and you haven't given any evidence for that.

Just God. Natural religion somehow.

What has God done to be worthy of my respect?

What have you and I done to be worthy of respect?

At it's root, respect means to again-notice and/or again-appreciate. At its best, respect for God, serves to promote awareness and gratitude irrespective of what - or even if - God might be.

As I see it, respect isn't given just because something/someone is. It is something that is earned through meritorious action. This, to me, is different than awareness and gratitude. I can be aware and grateful for something that hasn't earned or is even worthy of my respect. I'm aware of and grateful for the food that is currently cooking on my stove, but it hasn't done anything to earn my respect.

How would that work? You have to establish a god-conception and take responsibility for its use before attempting to use that god-conception at all.

Attempting to take god for granted and sustain something else on that is working backwards and just does not work.

Unless it is.

I suspect that I could find some post or posts of mine where I've said something akin to "respect must be earned." I'm coming to think that "disrespect should be earned" is the better aphorism.
I think both are earned through action.

I don't equate the absence of respect with disrespect. Just as I don't respect the food cooking on my stove, I don't disrespect it.
