The Science of the Church

Perhaps he is asking about the science the church has done throughout the ages.

I'm sure the church has funded a number of scientific initiatives.

Some of them may even be really science.

Science, in many cases, grew out of an attempt to find God in nature. Eventually it refined itself to a non-theistic methodology.

What's a "Science of the Church"?

For example, the Vatican has an outerspace observatory and christian scientists who investigate the natural world to further study truth...

Through the common scientific method, of course.

I'm not certain I would consider that "science of the church". It's just various religious groups doing science.

"Executed" is such a cold, official sounding, technical term that almost seems self-justifying... Let's call it what it really was shall we? "Murder" Just perform a Google search and you will find lists of names of people who were murdered in the name of God (I'm sure he/she really appreciates that:confused:). These are simply the people who made a big enough impact to have their story recorded in history. Just imagine how many "heretics" were murdered in the name of God throughout history that weren't important anough to have their name recorded somewhere... MANY were scientists.

From Wiki:
"The term heresy is from Greek αἵρεσις originally meant 'choice', "

So let's see...
Heresy = Choice, Choice = Freedom, Heresy = Death, Freedom = Death

Sorry but being christian and being a scientist are exactly the opposite. So let us say that they have "christian researchers", maybe?
