I've outlived my uselessness.I do.
My need to be useful. My need to see myself as a "good" person.
I think it is a lie to think the individual in the act of altruism somehow circumvents their own desires.

Not at all. Heaven is based on acceptance of Jesus and the sacrifice he came to be and in your heart asking for forgiveness for your sins. Hell is based on refusal to accept the truth: that we are all sinners and are not deserving of heaven, but through Christ's death on the cross, we have redemption if we will believe and follow Christis hell based on service to self, or selfish type?
heaven is based on service to all, or selfless type?
jesus didn't promote idolatry. No where in the bible is it promoted, or acceptable. Not at all. actually it is what you do or don't do. you don't get into heaven fawning over jesus, you don't get into heaven being a flatterer. you don't get into heaven idolizing anyone, or anything, you realize heaven by a state of mind, a state of spirit. you don't get into heaven being a sacrifice. jesus quoted, "i require mercy, not sacrifice". this the enlightenment, the waking up of daniel 12:2I should elaborate a little.
Heaven and Hell are not about what you do or don't do. There is no work or conglomerate of works that we can do to earn Heaven. It is a gift, an act of mercy. There is only ONE way to heaven. Acceptance. The good works are a by product of living a godly life
I've outlived my uselessness.
Then what is the point of trying to go to heaven? If we are not going to a nice place (filled with selfless people), then why go at all? Wouldn't it be like heaven if only foul people went there?
Yet the Gospel repeatedly says you are not saved by works but by grace. Works are the result of living by faith not a requirement to get into heaven. If you believe you can earn your way to heaven you are missing the lesson.actually it is what you do or don't do. you don't get into heaven fawning over jesus, you don't get into heaven being a flatterer. you don't get into heaven idolizing anyone, or anything, you realize heaven by a state of mind, a state of spirit. you don't get into heaven being a sacrifice. jesus quoted, "i require mercy, not sacrifice". this the enlightenment, the waking up of daniel 12:2

Please explain what in there you consider idolatry so I can clarify your confusionjesus didn't promote idolatry. No where in the bible is it promoted, or acceptable.

worshiping anything created, formed, above another created, formed. Please explain what in there you consider idolatry so I can clarify your confusion
I can easily give scripture if you like. Here are a few that say it is by faith not works. Ephesians 2:8-9nope, you're still wrong that is why you aren't quoting any scripture. love is what saves you. by yoking yourself in love to another through altruism.
faith without works is d-e-a-d
it is your deeds that condemn/save you. you were told to love one another as I loved you
1 John 3:18
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning was the word and the word was God and the word was with God...skip ahead...John 1:14 And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us.worshiping anything created, formed, above another created, formed.
In neither of those verses did Jesus say I require mercy not sacrificeactually it is what you do or don't do. you don't get into heaven fawning over jesus, you don't get into heaven being a flatterer. you don't get into heaven idolizing anyone, or anything, you realize heaven by a state of mind, a state of spirit. you don't get into heaven being a sacrifice. jesus quoted, "i require mercy, not sacrifice". this the enlightenment, the waking up of daniel 12:2

James 2:14-26 since you didn't put the faith without works is dead scripture in there. You are misrepresenting the meaning of this scripture. You have to look at it in context. The writer is pointing out that both faith and works are necessary in the life of a Christian, but is making the point that if you are truly living by faith good works will be the evidence that is why he says show my your faith without works and I will show you my faith by my works. Faith is still the key point being focused onI can easily give scripture if you like. Here are a few that say it is by faith not works. Ephesians 2:8-9
Galatians 2:16, 2:21, 5:4
Romans 3:20-30, 4:1-7, 8:3, 9:16, 9:31-32, 11:6
Acts 13:39
2 Timothy 1:9
Titus 3:4-5
I'd call that a recurring theme
I went with your 1st. By Grace = love. So you reap what you sow. Even your belief requires belief and repentance. These are actions, works too. Most Christian 's are deluding themselvesI can easily give scripture if you like. Here are a few that say it is by faith not works. Ephesians 2:8-9

but he quoted isaiah. Isaiah 66 tells you what God thinks about sacrifices and taking the name in vainIn neither of those verses did Jesus say I require mercy not sacrifice
Ok, you're a belief and repentance are actions theorist. That's fine but read all the verses not just one because it suits your narrative because many of those verses follow you're saved by grace through faith with NOT by worksI went with your 1st. By Grace = love. So you reap what you sow. Even your belief requires belief and repentance. These are actions, works too. Most Christian 's are deluding themselves
