The Top 1% Wealthy

We Never Know

I see people all the time saying the 1% doesn't care about the rest.

Have you ever checked to see how many politicians are in the 1%?

Last time I checked around 45 members of congress were in the 1%(I only looked at congress and it was a few years back).

So why would you think the 1% politicians, regardless of their party, care about you?

(Edited to add bold to the United States)

"According to a wealth report by Knight Frank, you would need to be worth $5.8 million or more to be in the top 1% of the United States"

A single person that has an after tax income of $60,000, or a household income over $130,000, is in the top 1% globally. That is close to the average income in the U.S. and many in other developed countries. Which probably includes many here on RF. Something to think about. People in glass houses and all of that.

I don't understand Democrat voters.
I will never understand them.

They vote for the Warlike-Elitist-Circle that wastes billions of dollars on a war...whereas that money could be spent on free healthcare instead.

Democrats don't make sense to me.
That's why they lost.

If they really loved their own Democrat Party, they would kick out all the Military Industrial Complex out of the party.

Why talk about globally when its about here in the US and our politicians.

Democrats don't make sense to me. There is nothing rational or logical in them.
That's why they lost.

If they really loved their own Democrat Party, they would kick out all banksters and financial élites who cash in on the sale of warfare, out of the party.

And yet...Donald Trump and Elon Musk?

Something that has not helped is the Citizens United v. FEC ruling by the Supreme Court that has increased corporate spending in politics including for individuals.

Citizens United v. FEC - Wikipedia

And, for those who think Donald Trump is above this:

"In 2016, the Donald Trump presidential campaign enlisted Citizens United President David Bossie as deputy campaign manager.[16] During the campaign, Bossie made regular television appearances on behalf of the Trump campaign.[17] Bossie is a close friend and longtime acquaintance of Trump administration officials Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway,[18] having introduced Bannon to Trump in 2011."

Does that include the moron you guys just elected to the top job?

I am not sure if he is in to the top 1%, but I know he does not care about anyone but himself.
The Democrats are not able to find a suitable candidate.

Gabbard, Kennedy, Sanders...all winning names.

Sure. The point is, you don't understand why Democrats vote for rich, warlike people and don't get free healthcare because of it, but you still like Trump and Musk (who is expected to be part of the administration). Both are rich elitists who support war.
Musk is not a politician.

Trump vowed to terminate the ongoing conflicts. That's pacifism.
Light years away from the primitive-warlike approach of the Dems.

Musk is not a politician.

He will be if Trump gives him a job.

Regardless, he's definitely immersed in politics.

Trump vowed to terminate the ongoing conflicts. That's pacifism.

He can vow all he wants. He's a politician, afterall! Doesn't change that he's warlike.

-He increased the US nuclear arsenal.
-He created the Space Force, a new branch of the military.
-His drone strike record exceeds all other Presidents.
-He removed Obama era accountability on reporting drone strikes.
-He's the only President to have dropped the "Mother of all Bombs."
-He threatened to blow Iranian cities to smithereens after his assassination attempts, speculating they may have something to do with it.

None of that seems like something a pacifist would do or say.

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Hell, let's expand it to the top 5 percent and see how many politicians fall into that category!

And if Trump is a felon, what does that make Harris?
I don’t know that he is.
A strange thing to charge someone with,
he will be exonerated on appeal.
Harris Is just a very ordinary person,
nowhere near up to the job.
” promoted to the level of her incompetence”

So you think compassion and mindfulness should be limited in vision and scope.
Nope. But when coming off an election where people were talking about US politicians that are for the poor and middle class, why would people believe those 1% politicians actual care about them?
