The truth, the path to God

Starlight

Spiritual but not religious, new age and omnist
It is an easy answer. What is the true religion? The answer is in my opinion:

‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’e 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments". Matthew 22:37-40

If you do this, you are saved no matter which religion you believe in (in my opinion)

I like to consider that is saying let's embrace all the law and the Prophets, maybe when we embrace other faiths as we do our own, then we can embrace the Lord in all things.

Well, if I believed in a God that promotes killing our neighbour, I am not sure I would be saved by your God. Symmetrically, you will not be saved if my God is true, instead.

So, your argument that we are saved independently of religion collapses after a very first basic logical analysis.

That is one way of looking at it, but logically there are other ways, so we could also consider that It may collapse only when we make our own God's from the One God.

And how is the One God different from our own God?

It has been offered for us to consider that God is not part of creation or knowable in Essence, only in Attributes. So any God we have made in our mind is not real.

God can only be known through a Messenger and we get to know God by the Attributes of the Messengers.

That is just your tenet. It is as valid as any other tenet. What makes you think it is generally acceptable?
I could equally say: God is a turtle. He appeared spiritually to me, and told me: viole. i am God. The ultimate turtle who created the universe. And I decided to revel myself only to you.

How would you defeat that, without begging the question?

That is the quandary indeed, truth in this matrix is subjective.

I do not own that thought though, it is available to all and was offered from one who claimed to be a 'Messenger from God'.

So it becomes relative, only if we consider that claim is valid.

I bet it would be some ruse made up by @SalixIncendium in an attempt to get everyone to like turtles.

Everyone can claim to be a messenger of God.
How do you know someone is a true messenger without a priori assumptions about God’s properties?

Only by their person and their life, that supports the Message given.

Thus I see our truth is relative to our pursuit of virtues and morals, as that is why the Messengers are given by God, to allow humanity to focus on the virtues and morals needed in the age we live.

I love this Matthew verse

I never think in terms of "saved" vs "not saved"

Matthew 7:15-20 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Fruits: the pleasant or successful result of work or actions: fruit

Yes, I agree. All are saved if you believe in this quote and strive to carry it out. Good to have you back.
