The uncanny similarities between Putin and Stalin.

Putin’s Latest Speech Is a Terrifying Echo of Stalin

I know Putin wants a revived USSR brought back to its 'glory days', but to go back even further into a revised Stalin era in the 30s and 40s is something that the common Russian ought to be concerned over.

Will Putin become further paranoid and engage in writing out kill lists including those in his own administration? Will there be work camps again?

Here's Stalins speech back in the day...

The title should read
The utterly predictable and expected similarities between Putin and Stalin....

Both are Russian dictators, though only one is Russian. Not sure that's uncanny tbph.

Putin is more like Ivan the Terrible imo.

There are some key differences.

No doubt that Stalin were a crazy man as well, but in regard to the video, one have to remember that Russia were attacked by the Germans and they did not like the Russians and killed an insane amount of people. It was close to being a war of extermination.

Obviously Russia did attack Finland and took part of Poland as well, until Hitler backstabbed them.

But Putin is not the defender here or allied with the west and the US. The US during WW2 pumped supplies into Russia like crazy to help them built up there armies.
Putin can only rely on China for this really, but I don't get the impression that they consider this to be in the best interest for them. So I think it looks fairly dark for him to be honest in regard to the war in Ukraine. There is simply no way he can get out of this without some sort of victory, but the problem is that besides bombing civilians, which obviously just makes them hate Russia, and history shows that this doesn't really work, it was tried a lot during WW2 and much more severely than now, and it didn't make anyone surrender. So as I see it, he doesn't really have anything to bargain with as I see it.

What one could fear for the Russian people, is that Putin goes more towards creating something more similar to North Korea in order to save his own ***. At least it wouldn't surprise me.
