The US is a super power, but does it deserve it?

Yes the US deserves what it has from it's own vantage point. You see if the powers that be felt it ok to rape and conquer the natives that lived here long ago, and felt doubly ok to use slaves to further their deserved land and goals, it stands to reason no one deserves America more than those that think in such ways. Survival of the fittest, that is the true motto of the US, sold as freedom and liberty for anyone who wants it.

The US is among the top ranks when it comes to double talk hypocrisy about what it claims to be about and what it actually does through actions.

Though it is even sadder many say it is still the best, most free place to live when compared to elsewhere. Never was there a truer case of taking the lesser of evils.

Wow.
And all that from a "Christian" nation, right?

Might does not make right.
I whole heartily agree.
However, there are many many a theist who will claim that since god created everything then he has the right to whatever he wants and it is right/moral/ethical/etc. because after all, he created everything..

US and Nazi Germany :

"They are both responsible for mass genocide "

actually the people who lived in the country at the time, and helped commit the crime were responsible and guilty...

OK, if we're going to be talking about mass genocide, then the holocaust is good a start as any to begin discussion. Whilst I agree that those responsible were... well.. responsible, the innocents living in the country, just getting on with their lives weren't. Many people disliked Hitler, although they were too afraid to openly oppose him, and a lot of people did not know about the death camps until it was far too late. I agree that more people should have had the courage to oppose Hitler, but fear is a very powerful motivator...

I mean this in a moral sense of course.
Personally, I think no.

I'm curious to whom you are going to compare them?

Name a superpower "more" morally "deserving" of superpower status.

How does one become a "superpower". (Hint: being "nice" probably doesn't cut it in many cases.)

Do I personally agree on moral grounds with 100% of US foreign policy?

No.

Do I think most other superpowers abused power more than the US (or the UK in recent years)? Yes, I think I do.

Specifically what sort of things to I have issues with:
1) I don't think it was "right" to over throw the Chilean government and install a dictator there. Americans may have disliked an elected "socialist" or possibly communist government but elected was a key word.
2) Don't think it was right to cause Iran to have a government overthrown in 1952 for nationalizing their oil.

The are other things but they are harder to call.
