Its shameful that we don't have a whisky thread yet. so I'll take the chance to start one
Im thinking the thread will serve for members to share introductions and personal reviews of a new whisky they tasted, their presonal preferences, single malt or blended and exceptions in that regard, etc.
As my birthday took place recently I've received a couple of bottles, one of them is Connemara, peated single malt Irish whiskey, while Irish whiskey is usually smoother and Scotch is smokey, Connemara is an exception in this regard, it has a nice smoky experience, in fact much more so than any other Irish whiskey I've tried, one of the more pleasent experiences of Irish whiskey, no doubt.
the other bottle I've received is Chivas aged 18 years, which is one of my favorite blended Scotch, I'm sure Chivas needs no introduction, however for those who stuck with the 12 years, the 18 years Chivas will be a big surprise, it is highly complex in richness and taste, with a chocolate finish and fruity experience, it has a lovely smoothness to it.
So common! share your whisky experience with the other members!
