There are no atheists in foxholes

I actually think that the argument which religious people make which is:

There are no atheists in foxholes

...is actually one of the strongest argument that no gods or other fable stories are true.

Since the beginning of time (before Jesus etc.) people have always had the need for spiritual things. All throughout time we as human beings have always sought after a spiritual or "god" figure. We can go back to the Greek gods for example with Zeus but there are thousands of other examples.
Let's say there are 200 people on an airplane and the engine on one side breaks down. The plane will then alter its regular safe route and might be moving around and people will be really scared. Let's say that the lights go out in the airplane and the captain is saying in the speakers that "it might be a big chance that the plane will crash to the ground". In this particular example I would guess that many people would "pray" even if they were not that religious.

But here is my point....Praying in this situation has no relation whatsoever that a god exist. This is just how we human beings are. We as humans have this need in different situations. I'm 100% percent convinced of this and as a non-believer I'm also convinced that no gods exist.

Even if a big meteor was heading for earth which would kill us all and all 7 billion humans on this earth prayed...it's the same thing..That's how we as humans beings are...period...end of story...We laugh if we hear something funny, we cry sometimes is we are really sad. We have a good feeling if we are in love...we seek something spiritual if:
1. bad things happen
2. seeking purpose in life
3. If unknown things happen
4. etc
5. etc
6. etc

Once again, there is no relation at all between these two. I don't even understand that this "phrase" is used by religious people. A regular person with a little bit of a brain and common sense and reason know that this is how we as Humans being are and act.

In terms of crisis we turn to spiritual things have done all throughout time.
I don't even understand this "There are no atheists in foxholes" argument....

That's how we as humans beings are...no gods exist....
That's how we as humans beings are...no gods exist....
That's how we as humans beings are...no gods exist....
That's how we as humans beings are...no gods exist....

To be in a foxhole indicates a bad decision already made.
The wise atheist avoids being the grunt on the front line in a war for God & country in the first place.
(I'd rather be a REMF.)

When we were blown up in Iraq the sound of prayer felt extremley patronizing. The phrase "there are no atheists in foxholes" was invented by a christian during a time where our military was almost 100% christian.

Also, soldiers haven't fought in a foxhole since Vietnam.

Let me fix this for you/
I actually think that the argument which [a very few] religious people make which is:

There are no atheists in foxholes

...is actually one of the strongest argument that no gods or other fable stories are true.
There, much better -- still pathetically flawed but much, much better.
