But they have now split up

But are still friends

What do you think of this?

I don't see a problem with it

Personally I could not love something that could not love me back

The article says:

Since then, the 23-year-old has also 'met' 60 figurines and three larger models who she considers part of a 'collective being' that she is dating, and so she often refers to her lovers as one.

The aircraft she was in love with occupies different bodies

Ah a polygamous relationship. I understand.

They're called paraphilias and are a type of mental disorder. She needs help.
From the article

Forensic psychiatrist and private lecturer Dr. Werner Platz told the newspaper that there are around 40 people across the world known to have the disorder.
'It is a so-called paraphilia, a disorder of sexual preference. But as long as it does not cause suffering or conflict, it cannot be classified as pathological or in need of treatment', he said.
As long as the lady isn't experiencing any distress or her relationship isn't causing issues intruding on her ability to function in day to day life shes fine

I dont see an issue with giving inanimate objects personalities. Just cuz its weird doesnt make it harmful. I have an emotional support stuffed cat I named Hope who i take everywhere. We aint lovers shes like a child to me. Im aware she doesnt have feelings not really but i like to feel that she does. I take good care of her. I take her to the daycare where when i dont have her in the closet with my stuff the kids play with her and feed her. I use her to teach the kids how to have gentle hands with animals. They say bye to her before i leave give her kisses on the head. I talk to her and she listens. I cuddle with her pet her fur as i go to sleep. I tell folk to watch her make sure she doesnt get in trouble before going somewhere without her(I kniw she's not gonna get up and move. But i say this anyway). Hope is a good kitty. And she helps me a lot. My therapist doesnt see an issue with this she thinks Hope helps me with my anxiety.

I also have a doll that my therapist thinks is helpful to me that I act as a mother towards. I been struggling with maternal feelings lately and with a strong desire to breast feed and having a doll I can care for helps with that. Thats actually what reborn dolls are for. I have taken Alana out one time in the community thats it but am not open about taking care of her because of fear of judgement.

I dont know if the airplane helps this woman or not. It could be that it is harmful. But its also just as likely she has hyperempathy and extends this to objects engaging in an emotional connection with them even if the object in question doesnt talk back or do anything.

How many times do people pack bond with items? I seen folk insist on buying something not cuz it's something they need but because its damaged and they feel bad for the object even tho they logically know it isnt hurt it cant feel pain.

All imma say is we dont know this woman. I think the biggest problem is planes are expensive. She would need money for it and thats where i think this could cause harm is fincially. I also dont know if having sex with a plane can cause infections or not. Or if there's things gentialia should not touch regarding the plane. Like how would one have sex safely with one reducing physical risk and if she does that or not? So there could be a physical health risk here there might not be. As long as she's aware of reality verus this roleplay and emotional connection in her mind mentally the relationship is likely fine as long as it doesnt intrude on her day to day life. For example if she doesnt eat because thoughts of the plane or she is distressed because of her feelings or if its a symptom of psychosis then this could be an issue. As is from the article those things are not indicated there. There seems to be no reason there's an issue with the relationship. Other then they broke up.

If the airplane identifies as a human then it’s normal.

If I remember correctly, the term for this is objectophilia: the belief that one has a sexual or emotional relationship with an object. I first learned of this paraphilia about 15-20 years ago when I read about a woman who said she had a relationship with the Eiffel Tower.

Paraphilias such as this do not harm others, but they do prevent the individual from forming healthy attachments to people, so they are considered harmful.

I remember wondering at the time, "Will the day come when people insist on being married to objects?"

I first learned of objectophilia in the show Boston Legal.
"In the TV show “Boston Legal,” objectophilia is featured in the episode titled “The Object of My Affection” (Season 4, Episode 6). In this episode, Jerry Espenson defends a woman named Leigh Swift, who has a romantic attachment to a metal utility box12. This unusual case brings attention to the concept of objectophilia, where individuals form emotional and romantic attachments to inanimate objects."
