If someone asks why others believe something, that person clearly doesn't know the difference between belief and faith.

1. That I'm not as spiritually or morally impaired as I once thought I was

2. That there are Orwellian aspects to the way in which our society is approaching transsexualism; it's actually worse than doublespeak and it's causing far more problems than people would like to talk about (or would like to talk about but feel that they can't - HUGE red flag in a free society)

Now I want to know how spiritually and morally impaired you thought you were. This is gonna keep awake all night.

I just used to believe (and still somewhat believe) that there's merit to nihilism and that any man-made morality was ultimately rendered nonsensical. I spent a huge portion of my life believing that nothing human beings do matter and that nothing was sacred and that anyone who thought otherwise was kinda sappy. Rules meant to be broken and so forth. Just enjoy life as best you think you can and get away with whatever lifestyle you believe best makes you happy. All forms of spirituality seemed to be equally fallacious to me. And I lived according to these ideas at my own peril. I definitely wasn't always the broken angel that exists today.

In hindsight, I think it was just severe immaturity.

I had to google nihilism so I'm thinking you win in the maturity game.
