A goldfish has a memory span of three seconds.

And how was that established--a government funded research project?

Foxes have actually been tamed for longer than that. I agree with you that there were probably some more domestications than it says, but foxes have been domesticated. Some Kings used to keep them around at the dinner table to use as napkins, (they used dogs too, but they prefered the bushy tail of the fox to wipe their mouths.)

Whoa now, regular foxes are nowhere NEAR domestication! They're as wild as anything else. That's why it's only legal to have one type of fox (a fennec, I think it's claled) as a pet.

This list was posted on another forum I visit , and the domesticated animal part lead to quite a debate . :) I think it depends upon how broad a defination one gives , as it usually does with these list .

I'm a little skeptical of these ones

No, the government funded research project found that - like a rat - a goldfish can be trained to run a maze, and therefore has a memory span of longer than three seconds.

Try sneezing with your eyes open.:D

Across the top of the Lincoln Memorial on the back of the $5 bill are listed as follows:

Arkansas,Michigan,Florida,Texas,Iowa,Wisconsin,California,Minnesota,Oregon,Kansas,West Virginia,Nevada,Nebraska,Colorado,North Dakota,Delaware,Pennsylvania,New Jersey,Georgia,Connecticut,Massachusetts,Maryland,Carolina,Hampshire,Virginia and New York. Way short of 50 there.

I just sat down and read them all with a magnifying glass...I need to get out and do something useful:areyoucra .

Do you have proof they were domesticated? I've found absolutely no sources suggesting they have been.

If the population of China walked past you, in single file, the line would never end because of the rate of reproduction.
Most definately false. Work it out. We'll assume the population of China is 1.5 billion, and the world population is 6.5 billion. In the world population, a baby is born, roughly every thirty seconds. We will assume that the male-female ratio is 50/50, and that every person covers a space of .5 metres squared.

6.5/1.5=4.33

4.33*30=130, or two minutes and ten seconds.

Every two minutes, roughly, a baby is born in China. Therefore, we must see how many people can move past you in two minutes, assuming a stride of .5 metres per second. Easily enough, we find that 200 people pass you in two minutes, and one baby is born. Following this, we can see that eventually, the line would end, because more people pass you than are born, and every time people pass you, it takes more time for the rest to procreate. However, it would be a long line. Several others in that list are false as well, but some are true.

Thank you for the list.

Well, besides the obvious fact that you can't really give birth to a baby when you're walking in a line, and even if you could, they would get walked over by the people behind them, I agree with Druidus.

I agree with Druidus too. Shucks guys, i didn't realize so many of these things were correct, do you forgive me?
