This is it gals. The zillion dollar question. Would you rather run into a man or a bear in the woods?

What if the bear was once a man who now identifies as a bear?
What if it's a bear who now identifies as a man?
What if it's a woman who has transitioned from a bear?

I advice women who have such a deathly fear of men
shouldn't go hiking. Men are thick as thieves out there.
A better option....get some counselling & therapy.

I suspect that the respondents are a self-selected group.
Those who'd care to answer such a question would be
fearful of men, or would see this answer as opportunity
to comment that men are dangerous....even more so
than bears.
It also depends on the country.
This Italian woman has dedicated a YT channel on one topic: how mainstream feminism is dissing straight, white men.
;)

You are correct. I don't go hiking exept in a group.

The " therapy" bit tho is a bit gratuitous.

No, it's a serious recommendation.
When a problem interferes with a major life activity,
that's when to seek a solution. This applies to many
things, eg, PTSD, agoraphobia, FOMO, claustrophobia.

For example, if I'm to have an MRI done, I'm prescribed
a Valium to address claustrophobia. So it's not always
counseling, but fear of all men strikes me as requiring
counseling. That's better than giving up hiking (if it's
important).

Are you afraid of all bears or just ones who
have the opportunity to harm you.

( you never were mauled by one, right?)

I'm not afraid of bears at all....even @Wu Wei.
However, when I've seen them in the wild,
I've steered clear. This has been seldom.

So afraid of no bear under any conditions.

You've not been attacked of course.

I've never seen a bear except in a zoo.

Perhaps you're familiar with their behaviour.

The dangerous creatures here are mostly men.

Though I've encountered a cobra now and then.

The question changed.
It would be different if a bear were charging me.

To be afraid of all men simply because they're
men is a pretty troubling phobia. It should
be addressed by some means more productive
than simply avoiding men.

It's impossible to avoid men.
But I will do anything to avoid being alone
with a man.

Failing to pick up is the same as
picking up to fail.
You can pick your friends.
You can pick your nose.
But you can't pick your friend's nose.

And don't ever pick a strange man's nose.

There is no fear if one avoids situations where fear
is the natural reaction. I certainly would feel fear
if I were someplace where I could run into a bear.

Note that I'd never hunt bears. I'm thinking of
situations where I'm unarmed & in danger.
Does this register in your tiny ursine brain?

Oh my!

I wonder if the ones that pick the bear are the same ones that are afraid of transgender women in women's bathrooms.
