This is not home

I have a good life and much to be thankful for, yet, the heartache and trouble of this world does really get to me. Everyday, there are hurting people and situations to pray for and I look for ways to help where I can. Nevertheless, I am so glad that this world and life is not IT. This is not my home and I look forward to an eternity where everything will be right.

................ This is not my home and I look forward to an eternity where everything will be right.
I find Jesus too looked forward to an 'eternity where everything will be right'.
While on Earth Jesus demonstrated for us on a small scale of healing and resurrecting people what he will be doing on a grand-global scale during his millennium-long day of governing over Earth for a thousand years.
That is when ' enemy death ' will be No more on Earth as per 1 Corinthians 15:24-26; Isaiah 25:8.
Then, just as Jesus promised, humble meek people will inherit the Earth as home as per Matthew 5:5.
That was Not a new thought that Jesus was teaching but referring back to Psalms 37:9-11,29.
Then, mankind will see the return of the Genesis ' tree of life ' on Earth for mankind according to Revelation 22:2 when there will be healing for earth's nations, and Earth as home will be as described in the 35th chapter of Isaiah.
This I find is why we are all invited to pray the invitation of Revelation 22:20 for Jesus to come !
Come and bring Peace on Earth along with the benefit of healing for earth's nations.

My most consoling thought is that I will die some day... everything about this world has become bitter or straight torture...if God told me it could end today if I gave him permission, I'd not hesitate...

I find Jesus offers rest from the burdens of this world and life when I truly lay it down and trust Him...
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:29

I am not a Jehovah's Witness and do not think the Watchtower theology is biblically accurate. The Bible states that the citizenship of the believer is with the Lord where He is in heaven ...For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ ( Phil. 3:20). I believe Watchtower teachings confuse the Bible's teachings about Christ's 1000 year reign from Jerusalem of peace on the earth with the eternal heavenly realm.

Thank you for your reply. Interesting that Revelation ( Jerusalem above - Galatians 4:26 ) speaks of New/holy Jerusalem 'coming down'.....at Revelation 21:2,10. And at Revelation 21:3 it speaks about God being with 'men' or mankind.
In that verse I find No mention about angels or resurrected people but people alive living on Earth.
The meek who inherit the Earth as Jesus promised at Matthew 5:5 when referring to Psalms 37:9-11 is about the eternal earthly realm for those who will inherit the Earth. Not some wicked earth but the Earth as described at Revelation 22:2 when there will be healing for ( Not heaven ) but healing for earth's nations.
Those 'eternally in heaven' are those who have a first or earlier resurrection as mentioned at Revelation 20:6.
I find they have two(2) citizenship jobs to do according to Revelation 5:9-10.
1) They will serve mankind living on earth as 'kings' taking care of governmental responsibilities for people of earth.
2) They will serve mankind living on earth as 'priests' taking care of spiritual duties towards earth's people.
I find what Jehovah's Witnesses teach is found at www.jw.org

Agree, Jesus offers rest...... when we obey his 'new commandment' of John 13:34-35 to have the same self-sacrificing love for others as Jesus has. In other words, we are now to love others 'more' than self.

I find Jesus gave us consoling thoughts about living forever.
Not in a wicked bitter world but a world filled with healing for earth's nations.
Jesus talked about what he will be doing at Matthew 25:31-33,37,40.
There is a coming ' time of separation ' on Earth to take place.
Please notice those figurative humble ' sheep ' remain alive on Earth.
As for the figurative trouble-maker ' goats ' on Earth they will be gone forever.
Just as Psalms 92:7 says the wicked will be destroyed forever.
Then, Jesus, as Prince of Peace, will usher in global Peace on Earth among persons of goodwill.
Mankind will see the return of the Genesis ' tree of life' (Not death) on Earth as per Revelation 22:2.
There we are reassured that there will be 'healing' for earth's nations.
Isaiah 35 th chapter describes how earth will become a beautiful paradisical earth for all to enjoy healthy life on Earth.
So, the world will Not always be a bitter world, but will be a righteous world filled with righteous people.
Please notice who ' remains ' according to Proverbs 2:21-22.
