The Dawning of the Age of Aquarius


We are intimately interconnected with the universe and its planetary cycles. Planetary cycles correspond to cycles of human consciousness and reveal themselves in myth, religion, philosophy, social and political structures, and the creative arts.


The timing of events in the world is tied to the movements of the planets. Indeed, one branch of astrology, known as mundane astrology, studies what is happening in the world, in countries and cultures, rather than what is happening with individuals and relates historical events to planetary cycles. Mundane astrology makes it possible take a look into what the future holds for us.

An important concept is astrological age, which is the approximately 2,160 years to takes the vernal equinox to move from one constellation to the next. An astrological change signifies enormous changes for the world. A few examples will illustrate this. Judaism was born at the dawn of the astrological Age of Aries, and the birth of Christ marked the dawn of the Age of Pisces. No one knows exactly when the next astrological age, the Age of Aquarius, will start. However, we do know that the 2,000 plus-year cycle, which began with the birth of Christ, is now drawing to a close.

From studying the planetary cycles, we can see that the Age of Aquarius will be concerned with social idealism and the concept of becoming one people. Aquarius is the sign of humanitarianism and it is know for an ability to both invent and communicate. As such, the Age of Aquarius will be a time when we will more deeply tap into our human potential and it has the potential to be the age of universal harmony.

Currently, we are on the cusp of a new age, just emerging from a Uranus-Neptune connection. Uranus is associated with capitalism and represents our individuality. Neptune is associated with collective responsibility and represents our idealism. When these two planets encounter each other, big changes occur.

The conjunction of Uranus and Neptune is a time when achievements in the arts reach new highs, great religions are founded, international affairs are changed and, most importantly, our beliefs are challenged and reformed. When Uranus and Neptune are conjunct, the transcendental mind encounters the heart of humanity. This provides an opportunity to reexamine our beliefs, our cultures, and our sociological and political structures.

The conjunction of Uranus and Neptune marks the beginning of a 171-year cycle of change. In addition, every 680 years, Saturn is conjoined to the Uranus-Neptune conjunction and marks the beginning of a larger cycle. These 680-year periods are called epochs and are associated with the development of human civilizations.

At this moment, Pluto is in Sagittarius and both Uranus and Neptune are in Aquarius. Pluto in Sagittarius represents the transformation of all major social systems. In Aquarius, Uranus is scientific, inventive, radical, and universal, with a deep striving to change the world for the better. In addition, the last time Neptune was in Aquarius, it was seen for the first time from earth, and the social movements of utopianism and socialism came into existence. This combination of Pluto in Sagittarius and both Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius is full of possibility and hope. It represents a transition to a New Age, with great advancements in both science and art.

We have recently completed a period when Pluto was in sextile to the Uranus-Neptune conjunction. This has paved the way for enormous forward movement on a global level. The last time this occurred was during the 1490s, which was the beginning of the Renaissance. Currently, with both Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius, we have the potential for greater self-awareness, consciousness, and evolutionary advancement. Essentially, we are now entering what could be considered a Super Renaissance!

Importantly, the Uranus-Neptune conjunction was also conjoined to Saturn. Thus, we are in the beginning of a new epoch of civilization that should continue for another 680 years. We can look forward to a commitment to spiritual renewal, a dissolving of cultural, religious, political, ethnic, and racial boundaries, and a new emphasis each individual being part of a global community. This New Age epoch is a golden opportunity to create a more humanitarian and peaceful world. :)

asrtrology is fun! i did my birthchart, but the rest is too complicated for me as of yet. i think i understood alot of it tho. -^__^-

I don't understand this. It seems like it's a simple matter of astronomy to determine when the Age of Aquarius will begin. Astronomers predict things like eclipses and transits and alignments all of that down to the minute just mathematically. Shouldn't we know when the vernal equinox will first coincide with the Sun's entering Aquarius? At least as precisely as the year it will happen?

It's the Age of Tetragrammatron. Aquarius rules electricity and local politics. Do a birth chart and figure out which house is ruled by Aquarius. For me it is my second house of personal resources. However, Aquarius being the 11th sign of the zodiac, you may also check out how Aquarius affects you. Scorpio rules my 11th house of Hopes and Desires. You can also figure out the Arabic Parts in Aquarius (just type in Arabic Parts Calculator on Google and plug in the positions of the planets with their planetary rulers to discover what sign holds your "Point of Fortune, "Suicide," etc...). My own prediciton, everybody's hopes and dreams will come true, but they may not be exactly what we expect.
