Those Who Know God Exists But Deny Him

Are there people out there like this? I’ll say yes and no. To give worship to a God in the flesh like Jesus would definitely be beneath them. I can’t say that about a more abstract God though. I think people who knew a God like this existed would worship him.

Ever had anyone say....
"I know God exists, but I deny his existence."

I don't believe in any kind of gods but even if I found one existed, I wouldn't worship them. Something like respect or support might be appropriate (though so could fear or submission, depending on the nature of the god) but I've never understood how worship of anyone or anything makes any sense.

I guess it would depend on the situation. I mean, if I was with a group of runaway slaves trying to get away from the Egyptian army, and someone parts a sea in front of us and allows us to escape, I would consider that to be a noteworthy achievement worthy of recognition and praise - along with much gratitude.

So, at least in those stories, people knew a God like that existed because they could visibly see something miraculous with their own eyes. They saw the physical laws of the universe being temporarily suspended (presumably by God) on their behalf. Or they might have seen sinful, evil cities like Sodom and Gomorrah get wiped out by God. For people living in a time when God is doing things like this left and right, then of course, they would likely fear and worship such a God, lest they suffer the consequences of disobedience.

But unless stuff like that keeps happening on a regular basis, as it apparently did during Biblical times, then there doesn't seem to be any point to worship God.

Yeah there’s no point

I would say evangelical Christians who are MAGA, as they deny what Jesus taught, thus deny Jesus. Can't have it both ways.
