Thoughts On Creation

Jimmy

When God becomes aware of himself, in the absence of his son, then creation will arise. It is the only time that God notices that someone is absent. This is what I mean when I say God becomes aware of himself. It is in this awareness where wisdom resides. From this, all things come forth into existence. Did we really think God would never notice anything? Our living God, the universe, oblivious for eternity? God also takes notice when the son is here. It is through this which allows the son to know his true nature.

Out of all the countless things God has created one might surmise he would’ve chosen at least one life form that was able to die and then be reborn. Just one life form. It wouldn’t be that hard to fathom. Would it? Especially when you take into consideration what Gods made of? God, the infinite universe. How mind boggling is that? So his creation of one little life form that can live forever in an infinite cycle would be child’s play. It’s just life and death. Nothing more. Compared to God it is secondary. But it’s not child’s play is it? Consider this life form existing on earth. It wouldn’t really fit in would it? What would be the logical thing to happen for this life form to make sense and fit in? The only logical thing would be for this life form to erase all of existence when it perished, would it not?

The act of creation from nothing gives us that something. God himself could not exist without it. There would be literally nothing. Nothing to define God. It is Gods own awareness of oneself that gives rise to creation. Everything on earth lives and dies. Why? It is because everything in heaven (Universe) also lives and dies. If the universe always was, wouldn’t the earth always be?

I think we can only approach this subject by a limited rational mind and that there is no full answer anyone can give to this OP.

God is outside of creation and has no need of it. At the same time it is not possible for us to contemplate creation without the creator.

"If there was a time when no creation existed, when there was none to provide for, it would imply a time when there was no existent One, no Trainer, and the attributes and qualities of God would have been meaningless and without significance." ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, The Promulgation of Universal Peace, p. 219

There is quite a bit already written on this topic that gives us some useful thoughts.

When I said the act of creation from nothing that gives us something I’m talking about the creation of his son. Obviously, God still existed.
