Tinnitus. Anyone have this?

We Never Know

No Slack
I have constant tinnitus that changes pitches, up/down/gets louder, etc. I can't stand to be in a completely quite room let alone sleep in one. When I sleep I have to have a fan on for some noise and sometimes a radio.
Its annoying as hell.
Does anyone else have tinnitus like that?

Mine is always one pitch. I've learned to ignore it until times like now where I'm paying attention to it. What I find most annoying is my ability to hear others in places where there is background noise.

Mine is fairly constant but not so annoying as to make life unbearable, and probably increases with blood pressure levels. It's not noticeable when listening to music, especially over headphones, and perhaps that is where it came from initially or it could be some of the concerts/venues of my youth - Led Zeppelin was definitely one of the loudest - but a regular stint at the Marquee watching the Yardbirds might have done it. Something I can blame Clapton for - given his apparent right-wing views then. :p

Still manage to sleep OK, and it doesn't seem to affect this.

I have a faint high-pitched hiss that I am conscious of in quiet conditions, a bit like that of those old TV sets. I've adapted to it. It probably accounts for why I can no longer hear grasshoppers in the long grass in summer. I've had my ears tested and the high frequency loss is about average for my age (69). As it is basically white noise, it is not bothersome. I can well imagine that a definite pitch, especially one that varies, would be much more intrusive.

I hear a continuous 9000 hz sound.
It doesn't interfere with hearing other things.
It's not annoying.
But I'd prefer to not hear it.

I have a slight single pitch ring/buzz in my left ear. I've gotten used to it. It only bothers me when I am on a quiet occasion. But I just adapt I suppose. I wouldn't mind getting rid of it. It could get more concerning with age.

I have a continuous cricket concert--I can hear individuals start and stop their noise, but it is never completely silent--associated in part with mid-range hearing loss and also what they told me is central nervous pathology, which means my ankles and eyes don't talk well to my inner ear, which leads to some balance, eye-hand coordination...and tinnitus....issues. If I'm listening to something, it isn't really a problem...if I'm listening FOR something (say, the owl calling outside the house during the night, or my teenage granddaughter talking), it can get in the way, because the crickets are at about the same tone and volume...
