Yes, you listen to them, but do they listen to you?
Oh they do. How many times have you heard them go on about issues that tell you that they at least listen.

It's just they don't want to address any of it. Insignificant people mean nothing.

Both are important. But for a president to not be able to listen to opposing viewpoints is nothing short of dangerous.

Short of listening I think we all need to know what we collectively want first. Not just what one group wants over another.

They want to know for knowing is the price , without knowing God could be just lies. Belief is one thing but proof is another, there is always proof you had a mother.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
The president deals with things that perhaps the public isnt going to ever understand. If you want actions in your favor, then vote for where there is the possibility of major consensus in your favor. Its not just one man that makes the difference.

The candidates that arise didnt just fall into position to run. It comes down to only the successful people will be heard. The average joe isnt going to be heard unless there is profound interest coming out of a major movement and organization.

People don't get far in politics by listening to everyone. They just need to listen enough to get a general idea of what buttons to push to get elected again. Of course it would be great if they could listen.

These days Presidents and prime ministers listen much less. They don't need to, nothing is forcing them to...

Individually, I don't think it's possible for the president to listen to everyone who wants an audience. It might be easier to see a Representative or Senator, but even then, there's no guarantee they will listen.

It's not just a question of listening either. It's also a matter of how in touch a politician is with the common people. Are they with the people and one of the people? That's where a lot of the criticism of the political establishment comes from, since they often come across as if they're out of touch and insulated.

So many times I've always wondered what exactly is said behind closed doors well out of the public ears and eyes.

I suspect if the truth be known, the public will be jaw-droppingly shocked.
